Chapter 1 Part 1: Broken Vases

Clop! Clop! Clop! The high heel shoes echoed through the hall. But that wasn’t the only sound, beautiful music bounced off the walls and directed you toward the glamorous ballroom.

The room was sparkling with different colors to go with the area. There were dancing people dressed in beautiful masks. You put on your mask and looked over your dress one last time. “Here we go.” You said to your self.

This was the annual Golden Star Masquerade Ball. You were undercover looking for an escaped convict for the Shadow Proclamation. Don’t ask how they escaped but it was crucial you find out and get the prisoner back before its too late.

You walked around the outskirts of the room looking at the people but it was hard when they were all in disguises. Which is why it was the perfect place for a criminal to hide.

You went into one of the hallways. It had decorative designs on the walls and roof. It looked pretty 14th century Earth.

It was traditional to have a theme when it came to Masquerade balls. This theme was Angels and Demons.

Your communicator beeped and you heard your partner’s voice.

“Everything good were your at?” Adam asked.

“Yep, its all clear.” That’s when you heard a clattering from down the hall.

“What was that?” Adam asked.

“Don’t know but I’m going to find out.” You ran toward the sound.

“Wait! Hold on you need to wait for me just in case you need-” You shut off the communicator.

Waiting could get someone killed you thought.

You ran into the room to see two people next to a stand of vases. One was standing, she was a brown haired pretty women and she seemed to be talking to the one on the floor. The person on the floor looked to be trying to clean up a mess . From what you could see he was tall with brown hair that stuck out in places and he had a long brown coat on.

You recognized them both immediately. No, you thought. Not that you didn’t love seeing the Doctor it was just a bad time at the moment.

The Doctor looked up at you. And you knew immediately he knew who you were. Martha on the other hand saw you and started nagging the Doctor. “See look what you did? You just couldn’t leave it alone, could you? Oh, look Martha,” She said in a voice mocking the Doctor’s. “It’s a 21st century vase from your time which makes you just about as old as this artifact. And then, smash, you dropped it. How do you even do that? I’ve seen you hold on to things way more fragile in the middle of an asteroid storm!”

The Doctor just stood up with pieces of the vase, “Uh I’m sorry didn’t mean to drop it, don’t really know what happened. But I can replaces it. Oh, I’m the Doctor by the way.”

He thought this was when you first met. You walked over to him, “Yeah this is not the time you meet me.”

“Oh, so you know who I am?”

“Yeah…” You said and gave him a smile.

“I’m sorry you two know each other?” Martha asked.

“Yeah.” You said turning to her. “And you, just not yet.”

“But I don’t… Oh your from my future.” She said.

“Yep. I’m surprised, didn’t take you that long to figure it out. Well…then again you are Martha Jones.” You said with a smile.

She smiled. The Doctor didn’t smile at you and you knew why.
