In 2014, a mysterious radioactive bomb hit Earth, a nuclear element like none other. From the rocky ruins of the plant, rose what was left of a once thriving civilization. A pagan society, the Ludd'rithian Monks, took this as a sign from their God Na'arbeck. They took over what was left of America and Great Britain, renaming earth Apocalyptia, never to break free from its post-apocalyptic state. The world became unable to sustain life for long, food grew scarce, and women were made into baby farms. The future generations were formed, but when the bomb hit, it sent out a wave of an odd nuclear element, not yet discovered, that got into the genes and eggs of the women, and thus future generations were given supernatural powers that only developed into proper ones over hundreds of years of evolution of the genes.
The year our story takes place is 2316, the Earth is nothing but people dying of starvation, living on the streets or houses that survived the Great Wipeout of Sin, and society had not progressed, for it is forbidden.
The world split itself into three different areas. There were the Ludd'rithian Monks, the members of Society, and the Outlanders.
The monks believe the disaster in 2014 was a punishment from Na'arbeck for their way of living. They named the 21st century the "Utopian State", the forbidden fruit and unreachable perfection of the past. The Ludd'rithians believe that life is to be lived in the imperfections God put Apocalyptia in, and so progress was deemed against the law.
But the street urchins of America believe differently. They are the future generation, ones of great power. The Ludd'rithians hunt these supernatural young adults down in hope of making them soldiers. For the monks made progress, to ban progress. With guns and swords and armor, they fight off rebellious ones and keep order.
The Ludd'rithian monks are not like normal monks. The leaders are highly religious and believe in the fact that progress must be banned, so the world can live in the state God puts them in. After the bomb hit, the Ludd'rithians took over Earth, and formed an army. The L.M.Rs are the only people in Apocalyptia permitted to own weapons or advanced clothing. To ban progress, the Monks had to make progress. So as to avoid uprisings, they had to make sure their weapons and armies were bigger and better than anything that could be made within the normal people. As the nuclear blow left people with supernatural powers, L.M.Rs situated in different areas test the blood of newborns to see if they will be useful. When the chosen newborns reach the age of 13, they are taken away to be trained. Some escape and some are eventually deemed useless, but most are given patterned scars to identify them and numbers tattooed onto their inner right wrist to identify them. They are called by that number. L.M.Rs are brainwashed to be killing machines, and lose all use of emotion unless in prolonged company of normal people.

Society is what is left of the humans on Earth. With their powers and weak farms, they survive on nothing and live in the rubble of the past, salvaging clothes and homes from whatever lies in the ruined remains of the cities. The people tend to be underfed and poor, with no hope for any kind of future. Families thrive on what they can. There are several groups that plan uprisings against the L.M.Rs, but few act on this, and wait in the shadows for a moment of weakness to strike the system.

In what was once known as the Countryside of counties, the now desolate wastelands called the Outlands are there. People from Society who decide they want a new life, move to find a Tribe in the Outlands to live there with people who move across the Desert-like land, the only thing keeping them alive is the weak source of food and few pools of water they can find. Luckily, lakes and rivers survived the bomb's blast, so near water is where most of the Outlanders are found. Some come back and forth between Society, but most like to stay where it is safe, as the land is so big that L.M.Rs do not have the time to scan it for people, so the children born in the Outlands are off-file and not at risk of being taken away if they are powerful.
