"Phoenix! Come downstairs for dinner!" My father called.
I wonder where uncle Sirius is? He is always off somewhere. I pondered.
I am Phoenix Black. I am a Pureblood. I am strong. I can face my angry grandmother. I said to myself in the mirror. With a deep breath I hurried downstairs.
"There you are! I have been waiting for you! Where is that house elf? KREATURE!!!" My grandmother screamed. She was never a quiet woman.
Shaking hands. Quick breaths. Swallowing over and over.
Today I turn Eleven. Today I might go to Hogwarts.
"Phoenix! Eat girl! You are a skeleton. EAT!" My grandmother commanded.
"Sorry I'm late! I had a man's night out with James and Remus."
"Uncle Sirius! You're home!" I squealed.
"Yes I am back my dear, back from Diagon Alley. I bought you a gift." Quickly I accepted the wrapped present and tour off the paper.
"A book?"
"A potions book. I know how much you like to test your mixtures on Kreature, now you can have much more fun with him!" Uncle Sirius explained.
I heard a nervous laugh from the stairs.
"KREATURE! I CAN HEAR YOU! GET IN HERE RIGHT NOW!"
"Mom, please stop screaming. I can't eat when you do."
"Sorry Regulus. I will eat now." She apologized.
He turned to address me.
"Well Phoenix, are you ready to have the best birthday ever?" Dad squealed.
"You sound like a little girl, Dad." I retorted.
"I know what we will do, we shall go to the carnival!"
My head lifted and I sat up straighter.
"The Carnival?" I exclaimed.
"Really Dad? We can go? That is amazing!" I shouted.
I jumped up from my seat and started to hop up and down in excitement.
"This will be the best birthday ever!"
At that moment I began racing around the table until I was caught by Uncle Sirius.
"Alright Phoenix, go and get ready, maybe Aunty Bella will be there." His sly voice told me.
"Aunty Bellatrix? Maybe she will bring me another Skull? She is so fun, and brings so many presents!" I rejoiced.
"Regulas, I think you have spoiled this one. She gets way too many gifts." Uncle Sirius told my Dad.
"I spoiled her? No. That was all you and Trix."
The notes echoed through the house.
"KREATURE! GO GET THE DOOR!"
"AUNT BELLATRIX!"
My grandmother and I yelled. She walked in.
Her long black hair, frizzy as always.
Black boots and a shall to match.
Aunt Bellatrix. My Aunt Bellatrix."Hello Sirius, Regulas, Phoenix." She greeted.
"Who am I? The House Elf?"
"Sorry, I didn't see you there. Hello to you too." She told grandmother.
"Sirius, do you happen to know a spell for moving a limp body?" She questioned.
"For Goodness Sake! Who have you killed now!"
"Oh gosh, their not dead! Just unconscious, really." She explained.
"Aunty Bella! Aunty Bella! We are going to the Carnival!" I exclaimed, once again racing around the table.
"Then let us go!"
