Chapter 18
-Lohan's POV-
I was leaning on the park bench facing the pond sipping on a Red Bull. It had been days since I've gotten some good sleep and my body was starting to protest. Who doesn't love a good bed and a woman to company it with? Instead I had to cram my six foot four into this old piece of trash. My car will be too much of a showcase and I cannot risk it. The last thing I need right now is attention. Yet despite all these worst case scenario risks I am still here and I still have no idea why am I trying so hard for this pathetic excuse of a girl.
I haven't slept at ease since her accident. My daily routine included staying in the hospital and only going home to get changed however there are some positive outcomes despite my sour experience. At least my parents believe I am trying to be a decent human being now. Well if it stops their nagging and constantly hovering over my ass I couldn't care less as to what they thought. Their opinions about me was disregarded just like the babes I rammed my meat into.
I nod and agree, if that will get me what I want, women or money either of them. Honestly though this woman ain't worth this treatment. I mean I am Lohan Newyearn what the fuck am I doing here?
The thought of Awya reminded me of the incident that happened earlier today when I went to wake her up. She was dreaming and by the sweat on her forehead and slightly squirming body movements I misinterpreted it to be a nightmare or some sort of a discomfort she was experiencing due to her fractures. Attempting to not give her a panic attack I whispered her name instead of using any physical effort. After a few failing attempts of waking the snoring pig up I raised my voice hoping she'd jostle out of whatever she was dreaming. I was answered with a soft moan and my name slipping past her lips in a needy tone. She was asleep that I was sure therefore I stared at her face slightly baffled with the sudden turn of events.
I continued to stare at her face out of curiosity and saw a ghost of a smile etch on her face. With all the prior signs it was certain that she was dreaming of me and it satisfied me in a strangely inexplicable way. Smiling inwardly, I called her again and she snapped her eyes open startled. Pretending to mind my own business, I pushed the red button positioning her bed into a more comfortable position.
Her cheeks were tinted with a noticeable red hue. I grinned inwardly while she was frantically fanning herself and sneaking glances at me attempting to nonchalantly wipe off her sweat. To say I was curious was an understatement however I repressed my urges and pretended to be oblivious to the whole situation that was laid in front of me. My need to mock her couldn't be subsided for long, I mean how rare are these chances why not take advantage when it's laid to you in a silver platter.
Her face was priceless and it was worth it all. She could have pretended to be clueless to save herself some face but instead she acted as if she was a thief caught red-handed. This however made things better for me and worse for her, amused by her transparent emotions I chuckled and left the room. She can' act to save her life.
Once Brandon completed his so called safety measures I dropped him off and refreshed myself, seriously all this late nights were getting the best of me. I don't know why Brandon even needs a sign. For god's sake this is Awya we are talking about. She can't hurt a fly imagine her filing a case against me for. The whole situation is laughable but I wasn't bothered to argue and contradict with dad and Brandon if this lets their mind at ease and shut up for the time being then I don't care if they bled her to death. Roaming my eyes over the parking lot out of boredom I leaned the back of my head on the bench, the extra energy I spent on thinking about her exhausted me.
It has been three hours since I had gone and returned to the hospital. I couldn't fake pretend the adoration I had for Awya just yet so I didn't go in as soon as I came instead I sat outside and drank a energizer to disintegrate the tiredness that was engulfing me. I was never weak nor didn't want to seem weak in front of Awya. I was done with my drink and just about to get up when I received a text message. Never in my life did I think Awya would message me first so I was intrigued to know what the message was.
Welsworth: Do not come in to my room
Me: Why not?
I saved her contact using her surname so that anyone who goes through my phone wouldn't know it was her unless they were familiar enough to know her surname, which was very unlikely. The people I associate with don't tag along with nerds like Awya so I had nothing to worry about being exposed. Why wouldn't she want me to come in? I looked around to see whether her parent's car was around but the dark blue discovery was nowhere to be seen, which meant her parents weren't here anywhere, not that it mattered because there was no reason why I should hide from her parents. I wasn't a coward, I wasn't afraid to face her parents because I did this to her and I was there to take full responsibility for it anytime. I looked around just in case she didn't want her parents to see me, this pissed me off a little. Was she embarrassed of me? And then it dawned on me.
"Wicky that son of a b*tch!", I cursed out loud and smashed the empty can in my hand. Did he visit her while I was gone? Is that why she doesn't want me to come in? Because she wanted privacy with him? These thoughts were consuming my mind and driving me mad, I crushed the empty can in my hand. I did not like that she was chasing me away to spend time with some other f*cker. And she wasn't even bothered to text me back because she was too busy flirting with that motherf*cker. That was it, I got up and stormed into the hospital in search of Awya's room.
