Chapter 15 ~ Confusion
"Huh? Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Shinako complained.
"They told us in class, Shinako," Shinataro said, pushing up his glasses with his right hand. In his left hand, he was holding another pair of glasses. It was his lucky item that day.
"I-I-I..." Shinako stuttered, fiddling with her hair. "I fell asleep in class," she mumbled, hoping Shintaro wouldn't hear it.
But he heard it very clearly.
"You're going to change your seat. No more sitting at the back. All you do is sleep there. Sit beside me next time nanodayo." Shintaro said firmly.
"B-But - "
Shintaro cut her off.
"No buts."
Takao stifled his laughter from behind Shintaro and Shintaro elbowed his abdomen.
"Hurry and go. You might get scolded if you're late." Shintaro said pushing her away.
"Why aren't you going?" She asked, stopping and frowning at him.
"Ours is tomorrow." Shintaro said and she nodded before running off.
It was the physical examination today and Shinako didn't even know. She's been sleeping in class more because of staying up late drawing - even though she couldn't really draw. It's her hobby now. She started after second year of middle school. It wasn't her fault she couldn't sleep.
Once she got there she noticed everyone already had their shirts off. Why aren't they embarrassed?! Some pervert could just come barging in here. She thought walking over to her classmate. She tapped the brown haired and green eyed girl on the shoulder. She learned her name was Ashikawa Reina(OC). They've become... acquaintances. But Ashikawa calls her Midori now and she calls Ashikawa, Ashi.
"Midori-san! Where were you?" Ashikawa asked after Shinako tapped her shoulder.
"Gomen. I forgot," technically, it wasn't a lie but considering the fact that Shinako has photographic memory, it was the shittiest lie she could ever make up. "Do I have to take off my shirt?"
Ashikawa nodded.
Shinako blushed. She didn't like other people seeing her only in her underwear.
Ashikawa noticed her shyness. "It's OK. No one will judge you here. Besides, everyone is also in their underwear."
Shinako nodded reluctantly and started to take off her shirt.
Ashikawa's eyes widened. "Midori-san!"
"Huh?" Shinako looked at her, puzzled.
"Your bust is very big."
Shinako almost fell down as a blush crept up her cheek. This was why she didn't like taking off her shirt in front of people. Since Junior High, she had been a C cup but now, she was a D. At least it wasn't as bad as Satsuki who was an F cup.
"Um, Ashi-san, please don't say that. I don't like to talk about my bust." She muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Oops. Sorry. I said it in the spur of the moment." Ashikawa giggled.

"Midori-chan!~" Takoa shouted, running to Shinako with Shintaro in tow.
Ashikawa, who was walking behind Shinako sweatdropped before tapping Shinako's shoulder. "Is he your boyfriend?"
Shinako froze, her mind slowly scanning the unfamiliar yet very familiar word.
Boyfriend?
Boyfriend?
Boyfriend.
Boyfriend.
Boyfriend.
Boyfriend.
Akashi?
Not anymore, she thought.
She never really understood the meaning of the word. It was just a label. It didn't really matter a year back. So, why did it matter now?
Takao, who heard Ashikawa, started to blush beet red.
"No! Midori-chan and I are just friends!" Takao exclaimed, flailing his arms around making Ashikawa giggle. The black haired boy's crush was obvious but the reason wasn't. It seemed impossible for weirdo like Shinako.
Shintaro frowned at Takao who was being so loud, attracting other students attention. But he ignored Takao and turned to Shinako who was still staring off into space.
Shintaro scowled and snapped his fingers beside Shinako's ear making her flinch.
"Oh, nii-chan." Shinako mumbled, looking at him with glassy eyes.
Ashikawa tilted her head at Shinako.
"Midori-chan, why are you tearing up?"
As Ashikawa said that, tears blocked her vision and Shinako rubbed her eyes. She blinked the tears away and smiled at them.
"I'm fine." She exclaimed cheerfully. "Something just went into my eye. What were you saying Shintaro?"
Shintaro's scowl deepened. Why is she calling me Shintaro? He thought.
Takao noticed something weird but pushed it away. He's known her long enough to know that she doesn't like people to be nosy. "Midori-chan! We're eating out! Do you want to come with us? Your friend too." Takao said, smiling at Ashikawa.
"Sure!" Shinako said, cheerfully grinning. "Ashi-san, do you want to come?"
"If it's fine with you." Ashikawa said quietly, noticing the awkward atmosphere.
Despite being acquaintances with the green haired girl, she didn't look like the type to be so cheerful.
"Let's go then!" Shinako said and ran ahead of them.
Once she was far enough, she stopped and closed her eyes tightly.
What happened to us, Sei?
