My one and only

Chap 9: first date

Brandon picked me up at 6:00pm that night. So about an hour before, I made sure I was ready to go.
"Hi" he said as I opened the door
"Hi" I smiled. And as usual he smiled back.
"Do you wanna go?" He asked. " sure" I smiled. Then I said "lead the way"
And he said "of course"
The restaurant was a small place but very spacious inside, it was all lit by candles. So we took our seats at a small round table for two.
I said happily "This is a nice place"
"I thought you might like it" he smirked. So I smiled and picked up a menu, and he did the same. I looked at the wide selection of meals that made my mouth water just by seeing the names of the dishes.
"Wow there's lots of choices" Brandon said reading my mind.
"Yes there is!" I exclaimed "I was thinking the same thing!"
The waiter suddenly appeared and asked us kindly
"Are you ready to order sir and madam?"
"I think so" I replied for myself. "Are you ready to order Brandon?" I asked him.
"Yes.. I would like the fish and chips please" he said.
"And for the lady?" Asked the waiter
"Oh, I would like your soup of the day please"
"Of course, and drinks?" He then asked
"Just some water" said Brandon "if that's ok for you" he looked at me.
"Perfect" said the waiter. And then walked away. The room fell in silence which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
The waiter was really quick which was good because it shortened the awkward silence.
"Here are your meals sir and madam, please be very careful. The plates are hot"
He warned us. "Thank you" I said. "Your very welcome" nodded the waiter happily.
We started to eat when the waiter walked away.
And then Brandon starts talking.
"So.. What's your favourite colour again?" He wondered.
"Yellow" I responded. Brandon got up as I said that and stuck his hand in his pocket to take something out.
It was yellow and looked like a box.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He sweetly asked. It brought tears to my eyes. I quickly wiped them away whilst he presented me the box. He opened it. I was so emotional. It was a ring, sparkly shimmering diamonds.
I stuttered, "I don't know what to say!" And I started to cry again.
Without thinking about it I said "yes!!" And I gave him a kiss. I was glad there was no one cheering. And everyone just payed attention to they're own conversations. Brandon knows what I like I thought. And afterward I gave him another big kiss.
