{Liz’s POV}

~*This is the POV of a 8 year old boy, keep that in mind please!*(Pic or Liz)~

What do you do on a rainy day? I usually stay inside and try and make the most of it, but today I spent all day riding a stinky bus full of old folks and crying babies. I don’t really like either, but I think I dislike the babies the most, even if I am closer to their age. At least the old people give me candy.

    Now I am sitting on a thankfully dry bench in an old, but better smelling bus station waiting for my new family to pick me up. I don’t really like talking about my past, it makes me really upset at times, but what I do like is knowing that I can have a better future, or, so Ms. Avery, the pretty lady at the orphanage said. I think I believe her too because since she told me that, I have been having better times. I think about what I want, and hopefully, it comes true if I absolutely am sure it will.

    Anyways, it is raining outside the bus station, like it has been for the past month and a half, Ms. Avery said that it was about time. According to her, our small valley has being in a drought for over two years, maybe that’s why I can’t remember when it last rained; I am only eight years old after all, I can’t possibly know everything.

    I kick my feet impatiently as I wait for the Oliver's, my new family. I have only met Tim, the father once, but he loved me right away and decided to go forward with the adoption. It’s only been a week since then, but I really feel ready to burst if he doesn’t come soon. Plus the big fat man behind the counter keeps giving me dirty looks; although I have only been sitting here for an hour. Maybe it’s my eyes? They are a very light brown almost a dark gold color, and I can see why it unsettles people. Not many people have the same eyes as me.

    Other than that I think I look like most other boys my age, straight but messy onyx hair, light skin and what all the grown ups say is a baby face. I don’t really like it when they say that, I am in no way like one of those whiney, stinky things.  The doctor at the orphanage said I was 4’4’, which was normal for boys my age, which is about 9, and I only weigh 50lbs though, I am really boney he said, but he also said that I am going to grow tall. I can’t wait for that! Then the older kids won’t call me shorty anymore!

    My feet don’t really reach the ground unless I point my toes at it, which disappoints me, but I quickly find something to keep me entertained, the bus station has some very interesting people. A bench away from me is a lady with frizzy orange hair, wearing odd clothing. A bright orange rain coat, polka dotted rain boots and pink gloves. She keeps talking to herself about some weird conspiracy.

“The Conspiracy….no, no we can’t do that! It doesn’t make sense! Oh, but they are going to be so mad at us…” she mumbled while twiddling her thumbs together. I think she may be a crazy…

   Across from were I am is a old man with really dark skin and cool looking glasses,  I think he saw me looking at him, ‘cause now he’s coming over here. I smile really big and wave at him.

  He smiles, “hey there little man, are you hear all alone?” (A/N I know it sounds creepy LOL XD but trust me, he’s just a nice old man)

I nod, “yeah, I am waiting for my family to come pick me up! Those are some cool glasses!”

He chuckled, “Oh these old things? I’ve had them so long I can barely remember my last pair. Got these from my wife, Gina, I am Mike by the way, Mike Longway.”

He held out his hand and I politely took it, “I’m Alizter, Liz for short!”

“Well that is sure a nice name, mind if I stay with you until your family comes?”

I quickly scoot over and pat the seat next to me, “go ahead Mike!”

~*This is a starter chapter! So sorry if it’s a bit short, but I promise that I’ll try to make the next few chapters longer.

What did you think? Did I get the little boy point of view alright? Tell me about any mistakes or if you have ideas! <3 Bug*~
