The next day went by fast. Frankie and I were really quiet but no one really said a thing about it. After school was over Torie and I went and got some smoothies, hers strawberry-kiwi and mine just strawberry. We arrived at my parent house with a few moments to spare.

“There you are, I thought I was going to have to scold you for being late.”

“Sorry mom, we have had a long tiring day.”

“Yes, I know. Let’s hope this doesn’t take forever. So let’s get started.”

We followed my mother into the den where a bunch of ladies were standing around with tape measures and needles.

“All right the girls are here so shall we start? Ellie you go with these ladies, Torie you go with those.”

We each followed the ladies my mother pointed to and got shoved into the dresses. Mine fit perfectly. It was just a little long on the bottom but other than that it was perfect. I walked out from behind the curtain and I could see my mother was pleased.

*an hour later*

Torie and I were finally finished and I was on my way to drop her off at Dusty’s. Frankie had called me and told me to meet him at the doctor’s office so we could do the blood tests today.

I quickly pulled into the parking lot and met Frankie by the front doors.

“Are you ready for this?”

I just nodded. Ii didn’t ever imagine this was something I would be doing but then again I didn’t think I was going to get married or fall in love with my enemy. We went up to the receptionist and filled out all the necessary paperwork. We waited for about ten minutes when we were called back by the same nurse who had dealt with the whole paternity issue.

“Well it is nice to see you again. What are you in for today?”

“Umm, I got a letter in the mail telling me that I should get tested for HIV.”

“Oh, of course. I take it you both want to be tested.”

“Yes, we would.”

“All right well all we need to do is draw just a little bit of blood and we will send it off to the lab.”

“About how long do you think it will take?”

“Most likely a couple months, but it varies.”

{A/N: I was informed that it takes about six months, but I will see if I want to make it that long or not. If I am not correct in my information then please someone let me know.}

So we were taken to a little lab looking thing and were cleaned. Frankie went first and so I knew what to expect. Once it was my turn, I was ready for it to be over with. Frankie held my hand the entire time. Five minutes later, I was done and we were on our way out of the doctor’s office.

“That wasn’t so bad.”

“No, no it wasn’t. Let’s hope it doesn’t take forever for the results.”

“Yeah no kidding.”

We drove home in silence and once we made it home, the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife. I walked into the kitchen and made something quick and easy for dinner, knowing that I needed to get some sleep.

Frankie came in the kitchen and wrapped his arms around me. He started kissing my neck and found my sweet spot. Immediately I knew that dinner was going to be put off for a while so I decided to intervene quickly.

“Sweetie, I would like to eat before this time.”

“Oh fine all right, but we will be picking this up later.”

I just nodded and quickly ate my food. Frankie had picked up where he left off and the world was lost to us.
