He waltzed into the room, looking stunning in his dark suit. His ocean blue eyes gazed around the crystal ballroom, searching for me. My heart skipped a beat as his eyes locked with mine, and I soon found myself swept towards him, towards his love for me...
Yeah. This isn't one of those stories.
I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the fairy tales. It's just so typical. Girl is poor/deprived/unlucky/not pretty, boy comes along, sees girl for who she "really is", dates/marries her, and then bam, happily ever after. I can tell you for a fact that guys are in no way like this. No matter how much we girls daydream and fawn over the idea of our prince one day sweeping us off our feet (preferably a very hot prince), it ain't gonna happen. At least, not when you're a teen. Don't get me wrong, I still dream about all the romantic things that could happen to me; a walk through the rain where a boy would twirl me and then kiss me with such an intense passion my heart might burst. Or perhaps a moonlit walk on a paradise beach? But I know this won't happen anytime soon, so why bother making myself depressed about it?
Oops, maybe I should introduce myself before I go all crazy with the writing. The name's Roxanne, Roxanne Winslet. I'm just a 15 year old girl. Go to an all girls school, have 2 incredible best friends, and fight with my mom on a daily basis. Guess you could say I'm an average gal. Oh, I'm single. I've realized now that boys at this age are useless and pervy. All they want is one thing and one thing only. I don't really have to say it, do I?
So now that I've covered the basics, let's get back to the writing, shall we?
To all those who are reading this, let's be clear. I'm writing this diary because I want a REAL story to be heard. Not some cheesy romantic novel or a crazy imaginary world. I'm not going to be fought over by a sparkling vampire and a sexy werewolf. Or find out I'm a wizard. I'm not even going to have to find out who murdered my best friend or figure out how to live with 9 lives and all the senses of a cat (though that would be INSANELY cool). I'm just going to be little old me, a girl from the sunny California, with a normal, non insane/intense story.
And that, I can promise.

Hey wattpaders!!! This is just the prologue to a new story I'm trying out. I saw some comments on NLYG that it was cheesy, and reading back on it, I totally agree. So for all you readers who are looking for a REAL story, without the extra cheese, I'm doing this. Tell me what you think and whether you want to hear about Roxy's funny adventures. Guaranteed to make you laugh (:
P.S.: the picture on the side is the original cover, made by my "amazing" cousin, Nick. But because of the sizes for the covers, it didn't work. And now it's randomly blurry. Sad, I know. Anywho...
