Ally POV
(Unedited)

"Why do you look so pissy?" Jess nudges me with a grin as we walk towards my locker.

I shoot her a glare but can't hide the ghost smile playing at my lips. "Well since you asked. That stupid arrogant prick of a Chase didn't pitch for detention yesterday!" I huff, the playfulness leaving my body completly. "I mean I saw him two days ago when he gave me a ride home...but yesterday he was a no show! That son of a prick!"

Jess's face drained of its colour and glanced towards her feet. "Ally..Maybe he had a good reason..."

My anger boils and I fling my arms up into the air like a rag doll. "Like hell he does! That ass let me scrape gum from under the desks all by myself! The ass didn't even have the decency to excuse himself!"

Why was she defending him?! Chase has the manners of a pig and she knows it. So why wasn't she agreeing with me about this?

Jess bites the inside of her cheek and glances away from me as if she is trying to shut herself up. "Look," she sighs, "all I'm saying is to hear him out...not everyone's intentions are bad."

Her eyes land on a blonde haired boy whose eyes are droopy and mouth is slanted downwards. He looks like he had a really rough night if you ask me. I may not know him but he definitely looks like he should have more colour painting his skin and more spirit within him.

I watch Jess intently while she continues to stare at the boy sympathetically who is now leaning against his locker for support. I wonder what they relation is. Are they dating? Are they just friends? Cousins?

"I'm sorry I gotta go..." Jess murmers and walks towards him before I can even question her.

"Jess wait!"

But she doesn't look back. Either she heard me or just chose not to. I'll just have to ask her later I guess.

I let out a sigh and adjust my shoulder bag before heading to my history class.

I push the door open, walking into the empty classroom, flinging my bag onto the front desk in the process. I slide into my desk and plomp my face onto my barely comfortable shoulder bag.

A squeak in the corner of the room causes me to shoot up and face the sound.

A person had adjusted themselves in the corner desk, unaware of my presence due to music blasting in their ears.

When I click, my eyes immediately narrow at the person in the corner. "Yoou" I sneer and march right up to them, ripping the headphones from their ears.

He looks taken aback by the sudden gesture so much that his eyes look like they're ready to jump from their sockets. Once realization crosses his face his eyes narrow into slits at me.

"What the f-ck new girl?!" Chase roars shooting up but sits down just as fast with a pained groan.

I frown, staring at Chase who is clutching onto his abdomen. His face looks completly distressed with his hair disheveled in different directions and dark moons under his eyes. What the hell happened to him? Which brings me to my next question, where the hell was he yesterday? "Where were you yesterday?" I ask folding my arms and tilt my head up in order to look more intimidating.

"None of your damn business." He snaps and blocks me out by shoving his headphones back into his ears.

There's one thing I can't stand when talking to another person and that is to be shut out or ignored purposely. Chase can't just assume our conversation is over once those plugs are in his ears. I want answers and I want them now.
