Blizzard warning

I had just finished stacking firewood and started heading inside. There has been news of a huge blizzard approaching that will leave up to four feet, yes feet, of snow. I had stacked enough firewood to keep me warm for a while. I had also gone groceries shopping. I live practically in the middle of the woods so my roads are last priority for plowing. Yes, I do live by myself if you were wondering. I turned nineteen about seven months ago in June and moved out. Then, with a bit of help, I built my own house. I made a cup of cocoa and sat on my couch. I just stared out the window as the sun went down. After about fifteen minutes my house was dark. I clicked a button on the remote control and the tv lights flooded the room. I turned to the local news and tuned in.
"Well Sandy this storm has been underestimated. The northern parts of the state are going to get about four feet of snow. Let's hope the plows can handle it."
Ugh. This stinks. I flicked the tv off and went upstairs. I climbed into bed and turned on my phone. The clicking of nails alerted me that my dog was approaching. "Speck, come here." I said patting the bed next to me. A blur a black and white fur and speck was next to me. I sat there and scratched behind her ears for a bit until I rolled over and fell asleep.

This is my second book and Paige is a character from my first one. Only in this one she is older, and lives on her own. Thank you please vote and/or comment if you like it so far. Peace out. 🐢🍋
