I was not a morning person. I've always been in the habit of setting way too many alarms, and i get cranky very easily.

This morning wasn't one of those mornings though. I was actually happy to go home and sleep in my own bed. Most importantly, i was anxious to see my six year old brother. I had left him with our family known babysitter, Karen. She used to babysit me when i was a little kid while my parents were at work, so i trusted her with Jake.

Three years ago when i was nineteen, my mom had passed away from a stroke. When my brother was born, my dad left us without writing a letter of saying where he went or anything, so basically ever since then, i've been working two jobs and i've been taking online college so i can provide for Jake.

Lately, i've been getting really good tips at the restaurant i've been working at, and i've also been getting paid well working as a sales associate at Victoria's Secret. Since the holidays are around the corner, i was surprised by the generosity of some people.

I sighed as i packed my things into my bag after getting ready, which was actually kind of hard. I always come home with more things than what i arrived with here.

"There was really no point in sleeping if we had to wake up a half an hour ago.." Hannah said as she angrily shoved her belongings into her suitcase.

"Calm down, its too early for complaining," Makenzie bluntly stated. I rolled my eyes in annoyance of the two bickering.

My watch read 3:00, so we had to leave in a few minutes in order to get through security and onto our plane in time.

"Someone leave a tip for the cleaning lady," i said as i managed to zip up my suitcase.

A few minutes later, we put our things in the car and headed to the airport. It took about twenty minutes to get there, so i crossed my fingers and hoped that security wouldn't take long.

As soon as we arrived, we walked in and surprisingly went through security fast with enough time for us to go to the bathroom and get onto the plane.

We found our seats and i sat down in relief, knowing that we'll be home in eight hours. I took out my phone and scrolled through my text messages, tapping on Karen's name.

Grace: Hopefully this text doesn't wake you up, but i'll arrive at the airport around noon. I want this to be a surprise for Jake, so keep it on the down low. Anyways, sweet dreams, thank you xx

I plugged in my earbuds and turned on some music before getting a text.

Karen: I've been up love, Jake hasn't been feeling too good :( I think he has the flu or something, im not sure. But i'll make sure to be there around noon for you.

Grace: Thank you, & after we leave the airport i'll bring him to the hospital to see what's up, so please try and make an appointment for me. We're about to take off so i'll see you later, get some sleep xx

I turned up my music to tune out the crying baby that was aboard and got into a comfortable sleeping position. The next eight hours were gonna be hell.

I easily spotted Karen and Jake as i managed to get through the rushing crowds of people. Makenzie and Hannah followed me, finding their boyfriends on the way.

"Gracie! Its been the longest week ever without you here!" Jake said as he hugged me around my waist.

A laugh escaped from my mouth as i hugged him back. "I missed you too bud, how are you feeling?"

He looked up at me and shook his head while rubbing his eyes, letting me know that he was exhausted.

"He's been the same ever since last night, luckily he didn't get car sick on the way here," Karen said as she crossed her arms.

"Well, lets go to the car and take him to the doctors, hopefully it isn't anything too bad," i said grabbing my luggage.

She nodded her head and grabbed Jake's hand before we walked towards the doors and got into the car.

It wasn't long before we arrived at the hospital. Karen made the appointment for one thirty and it was only one o'clock.

As we waited, we would always have to make quick trips to the bathroom for Jake to throw up, which certainly wasn't pleasant. It at least happened three times until my name was called by the nurse.

"Grace Emerey?" She said as she opened the door and scanned the waiting room.

I stood up and motioned for my brother to follow me. As we walked into the long hallway, she lead us into room nine.

"Mr. Styles will be with you shortly," she said before shutting the door.
