"Shit! What time is it?"

"Umm I think about 2 am... Why? I thought you were staying ov... Oh."

"Yeah, oh! How could I be such an idiot! My anniversary is tomorrow and I haven't gotten her anything! Not even a card, let alone being home... she's going to kill me.."

"Look.. 'Ander I hardly think Lucy is gonna flip.. I mean she's cool she aint like them other girls. Trust me.. After all I am your older brother!"

"Not my brother but yeah, thanks man anyway I need to go I'm sorry but I at least need to be there, and I can hardly leave her alone with Christa, she's so young and she needs both her parents.."

"Yeah, OK but I still can't believe you're 21 and ALREADY have a child, ha! You are so on a leash right now."

"Whatever, see you soon?"

"Bye Mr. Whipped cream!"

I exit my stupidly close best friend's house, Daniel, and enter the depths of the night with only the light of the crescent moon to guide me home. This was like any other day for me, I mean walking home at the tip of the night, alone, I wasn't particularly scared. Shouldn't I be? I mean it is London after all. Yeah I probably should, but I've done this enough times to know that the chances of that happening to me, well one in a million. Little did I know that particular night I was going to be that 'one'.

I continued down approaching my usual ally way ignoring the fact that it is probably the most used area for deaths in scary movies. But then again I'm just an ignorant a- hole aren't I? Almost making it out of the 'death cave' alive to a point when I could see the road on the other end I start to hear footsteps behind me, brushing it off as someone also taking a short cut but keeping my guards up.. Footsteps. Loud ones. Getting closer and closer. I panic, I can hear my heart beating, my stomach dragging on the floor behind me as my brain tries to instruct my feet to pick up the pace when I felt a sharp prickling feeling at my lower abdomen.

"Turn around now." I hear in my left ear, the smell of liquor invading my senses. I do as instructed "I- I don't want any trouble! I have a child for God's sake, please, don't I don't have anything on me just leave me alone!" I all but choked out of my dry throat.

"Liar!" he whispered coldly into my ear before smacking the flat end if the cold, metal object on my temple making me go limp onto the floor, I kneel there, paralysed as he aggressively searches me only to find one thing. A picture of Lucy, Christa and I, looking happy as ever. I thought about them, if I would ever see them again as a warm tear drop ran down my face, cold and icy as the wind whips my face. I hear a growl of annoyance.

"Fuck. Nothing."

"Ok can you please leave me alone?"

"No can do, your pathetic little ass is going to run off to the police, they already know who I am so all I have to do is shut you up." He growled sounding a bit too amused for my liking, and with that he whipped me up, turned me round and that's when everything went slow motion. I could see his face, dark eyes full of hatred as they continued darkening yet a mischievous smirk. He had a scorch mark by his right eye and a scar on his left cheek. He didn't look like he shaved for a little over a week, his hair looked rough and tangled, his appearance only leaving me thinking of what kinds of fights he has been in. Then as another wave of strong liquor hit my face, travelling up my nostrils, I looked down and he was wearing a white wife beater with a stain on it but the restricted lighting of the teasing moon made sure I couldn't see of which colour, jogging bottoms clinging for dear life around his lower waist line. That's when I saw his use of weapon and my eyes widened in shear fright. It was a machete about the size of my forearm. I gulped, swallowing my fear. You know what they say about your life flashing before your eyes? It's true, very true, the last thing I saw before this elongated experience was my attacker, lifting his weapon, ready to kill... and then a flash.

My mind went through a course through time as my best memories drew through my mind in real time...

A/N: so guys this is my first real book, it's very serious to me as it hits a personal aspect in my life but I hope you would enjoy the read and stay to see as the plot unravels unfortunately, if you read the description you would have figured it out, this book will not have any POV's but I will be planning on writing a teen fic' romance after this book if I get enough reads and/ or followers, I really do hope the people who read this would be able to leave a comment and tell me what they think!

Oh and sorry about the short chapter as it is just an introduction chapter it is very short, I will try my best to make much longer chapters, the next chapter should be longer and be coming out next week, I will try to keep to that sort of schedule but for now I shall go! Byeeeeeeeeeee!
