Lauren and Camila are two best friends, they always have been since Lauren stopped girls picking on Camila when they were only 8 years old. In high school, when they were 14, it was the opposite. Lauren came out as a lesbian to her friends and family. Some were supportive, some were not. A group of girls picked on Lauren, calling her hurtful names so Camila felt it was her job to protect Lauren, like Lauren protected Camila.
Camila has liked Austin since she first saw him at their first day of high school. She had asked him out when they were 15 and he said yes. They have been together for a year and Camila thinks she's in love, Austin has actually said "I love you" before but she wasn't ready to say it back. She doesn't know when she will be ready, she's always had a crush on him but she doesn't know what love feels like.
It's different for Lauren, she knows exactly what love feels like. Well, of course she does, she's been in love with the same girl since she saw her getting picked on by girls when she was 8.
