Rin's eyes fluttered open as they slowly scanned around, remembering she was in Levi's room. But it was then she felt something warm around her waist and on the back of her neck. Carefully lifting the blanket, a blush crept up to Rin's cheeks as she saw Levi's arms around her waist, slipped up under her shirt. Dropping the blanket, she slowly peeked back to see Levi's face near the back of her neck, warm air hitting her bare flesh as a shiver jolted down her spine. Not wanting to wake the shorty, Rin just laid back down and stared at the wall for a few minutes before closing her eyes. It didn't rake very long for her to drift back off to sleep, but minutes later, Levi stirred. He glanced around before realizing his arms were around Rin. He tried to pull away only to get a light tug. Looking back, Levi saw Rin had grabbed onto his hand and was now holding it in her own. When he tried to pull away again, Rin tightened her grip slightly before mumbling something.
"Don't leave...me alone..."
Levi sighed, laying back down as Rin suddenly mused softly. "Le...vi..."
Did she just say my name?
Rin released Levi's hand only to roll over and snuggle into his chest. Levi didn't really know how to react at first, but then he remembered how Rin reacted last night as he merely wrapped his arms around her. "This damn runt is going to be the death of me..."
"Levi..." Rin mused softly.
What could she possibly be dreaming about to the point where she's calling my name?
Suddenly, Rin tensed up, gripping Levi's shirt. "Stay...away from...me... Levi... Help...me...!"
What?
"Nnn! Le...vi...!"
She's going to start freaking out if I don't wake her up now.
"Rin, wake up." He started to lightly shake her.
"Levi...!"
"Hey, wake up, Rin." He started to shake her more.
"N-no!"
"Rin!"
"Ugh!" Her eyes shot open as she quickly sat up, gripping her head as she panted softly.
What the hell is going on with me...?
Levi pushed himself to sit up. "Another nightmare, I take it?"
"I guess so..."
"You kept calling my name."
"What?" Rin looked over to meet Levi's gaze, touching her lips with her fingertips before lowering her hand and her gaze. "Well I was calling out for you in that nightmare so I'm not all that surprised..."
Levi reached over and grabbed his phone, checking the time before setting it back down. "What time is it?" Rin asked.
"Almost eight."
"Mm..."
Suddenly, Levi placed his hand on Rin's head, causing her to gaze up at him. "You're a real pain, you know that?"
"I've got a pretty good idea..."
"Lay down."
"Hmm?"
Rolling his eyes, Levi took his hand off of Rin's head and pushed her over. She was stunned as she was rolled onto her back, Levi placing his hands on either side of her head as the two stared at each other. "First off, you need to relax. Second, the main reason you're having these damn nightmares is probably because you keep thinking about it before you're falling asleep. Stop thinking about it."
Suddenly, Levi noticed something on Rin's left hand. Reaching over, he grabbed it as she flinched, staring at the scar in the center of her palm. He then turned error hand over to see the same scar on the back of her hand, indicating whatever caused said scar must've went through the back of her hand first and through her palm. Reason being, the scar on the back of her hand was a bit large than the one on her hand since a knife gets wider the further you go up from the tip. Rin quickly pulled her hand away, covering it with the other as she placed them on her chest, avoiding Levi's gaze.
"I'm not going to judge you, Rin. Why are you so afraid of me seeing your scars, especially since I'm sure you've got more."
"Because I don't want anyone to see them... They'd question how I got them, and how I even managed to survive..."
"You were stabbed through the hand, weren't you?"
She gasped, looking up into Levi's steel grey eyes. "How...did you know that?"
"The scar on the back of your hand is larger than the one on your palm, and a knife gets bigger the further you go up the blade; it wasn't hard to put two and two together."
Rin gripped her hand, avoiding Levi's gaze again. "He stabbed me through the hand to make sure I wouldn't follow, leaving me there to bleed out..." She suddenly tensed up.
"I told you that you could tell me when you're ready, and it still looks like you're not ready to tell me yet. Don't force yourself."
Rin lifted her hand, staring her palm before the back of her hand. Twelve years and it feels like yesterday when I was stabbed right through the hand... I can still feel the moment that blade punctured my flesh and jabbed into the floor... and I was an idiot for lifting my hand because it only made it bigger until I finally took it out myself... I can still feel that blinding pain all over my body...

The next day, Rin and Levi returned to school. However, after seventh period, someone called out to her before she could leave the room.
"Rib, can you spare a few minutes?" Mr. Ichigo asked after the bell rang for dismissal.
She growled softly as Levi sent her a smirk as he walked out of class, but she just flipped him off, mouthing "Fuck you." When Levi was gone, Rin walked over to Mr. Ichigo's desk, folding her arms and leaning on one leg. "Can we make this quick? I have somewhere to be..."
"This won't take long. Anyways, I have noticed that you and Levi don't seem to get along."
She scoffed. "Did you just notice or are you just that slow?"
He sent the redhead a glare as she just shrugged lightly. "No, I've noticed since you've been here..."
"What, can you not handle us?" Rin quirked, a smirk tugging at her lips.
"No, I can handle you. In fact, I'm about ready to put a wall between you two... Regardless, it's the substitute that I'm worried about."
"Substitute?"
"I will be gone for two weeks next week and I want you two to behave yourselves." For some reason, he gave her a strange look, one with either a sadistic or lustful glint in his eyes, or maybe both...
"Where are you going?"
"It's a yearly trip. It changes every year and I don't have the details where I'm going yet. Putting that aside, I need you and Levi to get along while I'm gone."
"Fine, whatever. I just won't talk to the damn shorty. Now if that's all, may I please be excused?"
The brunette teacher leaned back in his chair before gesturing. "Off you go." He waved her off as the class was slowly filling with detention students, Rin making her leave.
She just did a lazy wave and walked out of the room. When Rin was far enough away from the room, she cringed. I know I hate this teacher in particular, but I've never felt uncomfortable around him. Something's not right and I can feel it in the pit of my stomach. What the hell are you planning, you creepy bastard...? I've got a bad feeling about this...
