Our Destiny..... Ch. 18 Auslly fanfiction

Ally's POV

It almost scares me. I learned long ago to never trust anyone this gentle. Unnaturally soothing. Janelle's trying to soften me, and I'm afraid. Because its working.

I find myself surrounded by memories. I've delved too far into my mind to think straight, too far to get out.

I'm twelve, sick, and my mother is stroking my cheek. I'm six again, and she's singing sweetly into my ear. I'm fourteen, and she's holding my hand, though I can tell her grip is failing. In the hospital bed, I know she won't make it much further.

But she did. She's so strong, she always comes out on top. Not me, no, Not a chance. Covered in a hard shell, cracking just below the surface, that's me.

I don't even realize I'm crying. But tears are accidentally slipping down my cheeks.

"Ally?" Janelle's voice is uncharacteristically kind. Almost like she actually cares. I put my head in my knees, and turn away. I won't let her work her way into my head. But it's so hard.

"I'm...so...weak!" I sniffle. Janelle then does the most unexpected thing. She sits next to me, putting her arms around my shoulders. I try to shrink away, but there's really nowhere to go.

"Ally," Janelle whispers rapidly like she fears being overheard. I wonder if we're being watched. "I don't want to hurt you, Ally. I'm serious. Just trust me, I can help you, and your parents. You have to listen to me, though, if this is going to work. I'm really counting on Austin to come find you, once he's here, it'll all work." I'm stunned. Speechless. Janelle is supposed to hate me, and honestly, I'm normally afraid of her.

But she wants to help me? I'm still uneasy, but I wipe my eyes, and raise my head. "What if he doesn't come?"

"He'll come," she proclaims confidently. "He loves you, Ally. He's probably already freaking out that your gone. He's already looking for you, I just know it. I'm going to help him find you, but I can't do it too obviously."

"Why not?" Nothing is making sense just yet. Janelle winces.

"Because. I just can't. They'll be mad." She lifts her sleeve to reveal red marks, bruises. "They'll hurt me." I can tell she wants to cry, too. But she doesn't.

At least one thing she's said is making me feel the slightest bit better.

Austin is coming for me.

Austin's POV

My pulse quickens as I pull my car up to Ally's house. I've planned this date down to the very last detail, nothing can get in the way. This is going to be perfect.

I'm about to ring her doorbell, when I realize the door is already slightly ajar. Strange. I know Ally, I know that she never leaves her door unlocked, much less opened. It has to do with something that happened when she was younger, but she won't tell me what.

"Ally?" I call cautiously, my voice ringing through the empty house. After a minute, with no response, I step inside and call her name again, more anxious. Something in the kitchen, visible from where I'm standing, catches my eyes.

It's the note I found her holding last time, about her parents being kidnapped. Except next to it, there's another note, telling Ally to meet some people at "the usual spot." My blood runs cold. That's where she is now, who knows what they've done to her by now?! Scribbled on the bottom of the second note, I see Ally's rushed handwriting.
