Chapter 1.

(Kris's POV)

12 years later....

I woke up on the top bunk in me and Min's room and stared up at the ceiling. I looked down though, and checked to see if my older brother Xiu Min was awake, he wasn't but I chuckled to myself. When me and Min were born, they thought he was a girl, but he was just my fraternal twin brother. Even though he is older, I act like the older brother to him. I laid back down on my bed and stared back up at the ceiling.

It was a regular thing for me to do when I woke up, since I always woke up extremely early. I sighed, I always thought about the same things as well. Mostly of my father though, and family. Aunt Charlene always told me that my dad was a part of this amazing, legendary group called B.A.P.

They were a music group and apparently only three members are still alive to this day. My Uncles Daehyun, Youngjae, and Jongup are the only members of B.A.P that are still alive. My Uncle Yongguk had died from a car accident, which also took my Aunt Ariel's life as well. Himchan was banished and died from loneliness, as my Aunt had told me. I asked her why he got banished, but she always said,"You are too young, you will understand when you are older." BLAHHH BLAHH BLAH! I am fifteen years old, I hate it when she, or any adult for that matter, told me I was too young to know something.

Anyways, my father had died protecting my mother. This all happened when I was three, so I don't remember him that much. Aunt Charlene always told me that he was the most extravagant one of the group, he had the coolest hair and was the tallest, He liked to mess around a bunch and loved my mother deeply.

My mom now lays in bed, dying of a disease the humans call Cancer. I know I'm a werewolf and all, but why do human diseases affect us werewolves the most?

I remember my Aunt Charlene told me that before my mother got sick, she would take me, Min, and all my cousins and brothers that live with us in the house out to the beach to watch us play in the sand. Back then, I guess everything didn't matter. Life, Disease, Hardships. Nothing.

Well, my cousins who remember going to the beach always told me that. My cousin Moon, Lay, Chen, and Jay. We are all Asian, and some white from our mothers. Moon was Aunt Ariel and Uncle Yongguk's oldest, with Lay being the middle child, And Chen being the youngest. Aunt Charlene and Uncle Jongup only had one child, Jay. My aunt wasn't able to bear another child, and even though my Uncle was upset, He was okay with their life together. Now, My mom and Dad, before he died, had Xiu Min and me, Then had Luhan and Tao immediately afterwards.

I guess that's when having singers as your parents comes into play. Me, Xiu Min, Lay, Chen, Luhan, and Tao were going to form a boy group, like our fathers. I can sing and rap like dad could, but I never told anyone I could rap. They all thought Tao could only, and that made me depressed, since they never asked me or Min. Yeah, I can kind of sing, but Xiu Min, Luhan, and Chen beat everyone by default when it comes to singing. They always leave me wondering why I am a singer compared to them. Or why I am even going to be a part of the group.

Oh yes, because they all voted me to become leader, they all thought I had leadership talent and I don't see it.

I checked the clock to see it is 6:30 am and I got up quietly, so I didn't wake Min, and went to the kitchen to make myself breakfast. When I walked into the kitchen, I saw Aunt Charlene walking all over the kitchen, and the sweet aroma of chocolate pancakes filled the air. I smelled the delicious food, and my aunt smacked my arm.

"No! You must wait at the table for your food, like everyone else does." My aunt said, pushing me out of the kitchen. I sat down at the counter where the stools were near the window of the kitchen.

"Or I can sit here and it is perfectly fine?" I replied, plucking one of the fresh grapes my aunt had gotten out for us and popped it in my mouth. My aunt looked over and just laughed, shaking her head.

"So, If we do get a contract and stuff from a company, what would our name be? Like the group name?" I asked. I really am curious at who makes up the name.

"Actually, the leader is suppose to come up with the name of the group." She said. As Aunt Charlene told me this, I smiled. I had a good name in mind.

"How about Exo?" I asked. She looked at me and shook her head.

"There is already an Exo-K. They sing in Korean like your father and uncles use to." She tells me. Then the idea dawned on me.

"Then we will be Exo-M and we will sing in Mandarin! We all know mandarin because of that cleaning lady who was Chinese and we had to learn. Remember?" I asked. My aunt thought about it for a moment, flipping the last pancake onto a plate and handing it to me.

"I think, that is a great idea, Kris." Aunt Charlene said, smiling at me brightly. I smiled back, then started to dig into my pancakes.

I will make you proud, dad. Exo-M will be as legendary as B.A.P was, and still is.

(Tian's POV)

"Yah! Pick up your mess, you no good pest!" My 'father' said, slapping my neck, grabbing it and throwing me to the ground where the broken glass of his beer bottle laid. It wasn't unusual he did this, It was just unusual that my 'mother' didn't try to stop it.

"Mom?" I whispered, looking up from the mess underneath my face. She stared straight at the TV and totally ignored me.

"Mom?" I said a bit louder. She flinched, so I know she is just ignoring me.

"Mother!" I screamed. She got up, snarled, and kicked my stomach. Making all the air inside me fly out.

"Do as your father tells you to!" She growled. I whined and cleaned up the glass and alcohol off the ground quickly, then ran up to my room.

I shut my door, but didn't lock it since dear old dad hated it when I locked my door. I went over and into my closet and pulled up the carpet to uncover the little enclosed space, where I kept my precious treasure, my Violin. I pulled the small plastic case out of the non-spacious hole  put the carpet back over it. My 'parents' didn't know I kept this little gem of my life, and I plan that they will never know.

You see, I used up all of the money I saved up over my whole life, to pay for this beautiful jewel. I have a special violin, she, as I have decided to make my violin my friend it may as well be a girl, she was a pearly white color, painted specially for me. The shopkeeper was nice enough to save my violin for me, then give me lessons for free. He knew my parents, and watched over me better then they had. The shopkeeper is like a father to me, unlike how my adopted father is.

I unclasped the case and pulled back the top, and held my violin tightly in my hands. I put the mute over the bridge, to keep a lot of the music I play from being heard by my parents. I plucked the small strings, to hear that it wasn't tuned. I played it once more and started to turn the pegs at the scroll, then the small tuners at the bottom for the small tuning the pegs can't do.

Once I had tuned the little instrument, I pulled it up to my shoulder and felt the bow sink into the strings. I had been taking lessons for three years now, ever since I finally bought it when I was thirteen. When I was satisfied with my quick scales I played, I pulled out my music from the inside of the case. I read the title, Violin Sonata No.3 Ballede. The shopkeeper, Who now told me to call him Ben, told me it was time for a challenge, and I took it.

I hadn't learned the music yet, but I heard little recordings of it, pieces though. Ben had told me he wanted to enter me into the music contest sometime in December, I think it has a grand prize of $100,000. It is enough to move out of this crappy old house, so I will work hard on it.

I must for the sake of me, and my sanity.
