Naruto watched her chest rise and fall, this was his fault. He was the reason she is like this. He wasn't even tired when he told her he was going to go to turn in for the night. He just wanted away from her. Away from the slight possibility that she would pry his deepest secrets from him. His insecurities. His worries.
He cringed as he lowered his head into his open palms, he just didn't want to let her in. And now she is unconcious. She got poisoned because of him. He struggled to keep his eyes open and head clear. He hasn't slept since he left for the mission, carried Hinata all the way here without stopping. But he refused to rest until she was awake and okay.
A small moan filled the silence and he glanced up, her face was scrunched together in pain as she trashed around. Her blanket was kicked off.
"Naruto", she murmered in a soft whisper before her body stilled.

She sat on the edge of her bed preparing herself for a gruesome day of training. She didn't like it at all but Naruto motivated her to become stronger, made her strive for it. She had to do something in order to catch up with the thriving Naruto.
Sometimes she would watch him train, betting nobody really knows the true extinct of his powers. He seems like he is holding back even at practive. She slips her shoes on and quietly slips out the house.
Once outside, she breaks into a sprint making her way to her secret spot.
She lowered herself to the ground, balling her hands into fists and blue chakra enveloped them. She winced at the tingling sensation as she willed it to take shape she desired. The blue swirls fought against her will but she succeded in forcing it into twin dragons. This might be the easiest part of her intense training. Her fingertips begun to sting as she held the form, soon spreading to her wrists.
She turned, directing her fist in the direction of a large tree, a smile graced her flawless face as she ran. She grunted at impact, wood splinters rained down around her. Her smile fell as she felt the dark prescence approach her. She slowly turned, glaring daggers at the tall figure.
"Uchiha Sasuke", the name felt like venom on her tongue. He was the reason for a majority of Naruto's pain. As he inched closer to her she backed away, not showing any emotion on her face. He didn't deserve to know the effect he had on her.
His eyes swirled with darkness, she turned quickly hoping to avoid this whole encounter. It's what she was good at, avoiding things. The little coward that she was. In a flash, he appeared in front of her causing her to stumble over her feet.
He cupped her face in rough hands, "Hinata," His voice was silk, "Where is your beloved Naruto?"
"Are you even human", she spat out, "If not there must be something definitely wrong in that head of yours. What did your mother, drop you on your head too many times before you brother ruthlessly murdered everyone you know? Hmm? Why dont you say anything you ruined Naruto! What else do you want from him Sasuke?! You took the happiness from his eyes. You stole that from him. From me." She had to arch her neck to get a good veiw of his face, he didn't even flench at the words.
She felt her bottled up hate rising to the surface, slipping off her tongue in waves. She slapped his hand away from her before pushing him away. Hate flashed across his face momentarily and she somehow knew she'd done screwed up. "What do you want you traitor?" She panted.
Sasuke looked at her with a smile as she huffed for breath, recovering from her outburst. "Little girl," The words slithered off his tongue like snakes, "What do I want? Well, now I want you."
He ran his tongue over his pink lips as Chakra gathered in his hand, sparking like lightning. She was tempted to block her ears from the loud sounds. She forced her eyes closed as he swooped down for the kill. A loud grunt sound and a sob escaped as she peeked her eyes opened.
Lavendar crashed with blue before his victim's eyes fluttered shut as he fell limp with Sasuke's hand impaling his chest.
"Naruto!" Hinata yelled out rushing to her savior as Sasuke yanked his hand away in utter shock, "And now you've stolen his heart as well." She sobbed as the duo collapsed to the hard ground.
Pain shot through Hinata's arm as she jolted upright in attempt to catch something. Naruto's name fell from her lips in a rushed cry. She fell off the bed, knocking over a vase on the nightstand. Tears rapiddly stained her fair skin as she looked around the room in confusion.
"What?"
"Hinata", Naruto rushed to her side, tugging her into a tight embrace. She clung to his Orange t-shirt, her sobs wrecking her body. She was whispering something incomprehensible repeatedly, slightly rocking back and forth. Naruto rocked her back and forth, he was going to be there for her from now on. Whenever she needed him he'll be there in a flash. Thoughts of her being his lover intruded his mind and he frowned.
He hasn't loved anyone since Sakura, and he lost her to Sasuke. Or rather he never had her, was never good enough for her. He lost everything to Sasuke. His gaze fell down to Hinata, he didn't lose her though. She shook in fear, the rancid scent sold it away, not that anyone else could smell it, courtesy of his demon friend.
Her hair was long, waist length at least. Last time he looked-really looked- at her it was short. Her beautful lavendar eyes were accompanied with soft porcelain skin. It was perfect and his gaze fell lower. She wore a light blue windbreaker than clung to her curves. He never noticed she grew up finely. The zipper fell halfway down her body, revealing a crotchet, skintight shirt underneath. He frowned at the cleavlage before zipping the jacket up. He couldn't disrespect her like that. Especially while she is in this state. She stared at him curiously as he did it, wondering what he was thinking. She wore her ninja headband around her neck.
Yamato and Kakashi rushed in just as Naruto finished taking her appearance in. "What happened?" They asked in Unison.
"He stole his heart" Hinata chanted through her sobs, "Just destroyed it. He destroyed it. He destroyed your heart Naruto" She still rocked in Naruto's arms, clearly shooken up.
He looked down at her, "Shh, look I'm here. I'm fine. I'm okay and intact." He pulled her hand to his chest for proof. With that she relaxed against him. Tears still stained her cheek.
"I take it she woke up", Yamato said softly, his gaze on the broken vase.
Yamato and Kakashi stared wide eyed at the usually reserved and calm Hinata clinging to Naruto for her dear life. He blushed ashe realized the position they were both in.
"Uh Hinata?" he said hesitantly, "Ithink we need to talk." Helooked to kakashi and then to Yamato, "alone".
''S-sure," yamato said, "but first I need to make sure she is okay"
"okay just make it fast", Naruto replied, releasing the red faced girl from his grib sighing at the loss of heat. This could wait another hour or so.
