Chapter 1

I fucking hate planes.

I hate the people who fly planes.

I hate turbulence, and crying children.

I just hate planes.

I looked out the window of the plane another time, as the sun shown brightly, almost blinding me causing my eyes to shut. The plane had begun its decent only moments ago, I gripped the seatbelt, making sure it was tightly around me. This was the first time I was on a plane and so desperately hoped that it wouldn't be the last. As the plane landed, and the pilot made an announcement, I slipped out of the plane, which took a while due to being in the coach section. I got off the plane and got the mounds of luggage that I brought over. The warm air felt somewhat refreshing on my face, the only way I knew anywhere close to what my father looked like was an old picture that my mother had given me at a young age. But, I didn't need that picture, I crumpled it up in my hand as I saw a man, in a tight tuxedo, holding a sign that had "Nova Thompson" written on it. I walked to the man, showing him my passport he motioned me to the large limo behind him. I entered it, and sat down in the limo, its black leather seats were extraordinarily comfortable.

I opened my eyes to someone shaking me,the tuxedo man to be specific-"Miss Thompson, were here." I nodded and took my dirty blonde hair up into a bun. My flannel pants and long sleeved black shirt probably looked simple compared to the large mansion in front of me. I knew my father was one who had a lot of money and success, but that never impressed me, it doesn't change the fact that he left. I grabbed a small bag that consisted of my art supplies, and tuxedo man let me know that he and another man were in charge of delivering the rest of the luggage to my room. I nodded and walked towards the house. It had a large door, made from marble, there were two staircases that went up to a marble patio, and opened to an even larger door. Above it was the actual house with large bay windows that were lit up, seeming that someone was home. I walked up the marble staircase, and tuxedo man number two opened the door. "Hello, Miss Nova-Mr.David will come to see you later, I would like to accompany you to your room. "

I followed the man to the room, he opened the door, allowing me to enter the room before shutting it, leaving me alone in it. There was a large bed in the center, with a tv screen on the opposite wall. I placed my bag down and observed the white wall, knowing that I would paint over it. I took a quick shower in the private bathroom that connected to my room. Once I finished, the bags were now in my room, I changed into a pair of red jeans and striped t-shirt. I grabbed my purse, which consisted of my phone, a paintbrush, pencil, pen. I put my moccasins on and grabbed my notebook before heading out of the room.

"She's upstairs," I heard a mans voice speak, I put my hair-that I had just hair dried in a high ponytail, since it was about waist length. I started to walk down the stairs but looked at the bottom. My father stood there with another boy next to him. I walked down the stairs and walked past him-"Nova!"

I kept walking when tuxedo man number 3 and 4 stood in my way. Why are there so many tuxedo men?

"Nova, Its been a long time," David started, "Yes- it has." I replied not turning around. He put a hand on my shoulder and I shrugged it off violently. Turning to him, "don't touch me." He looked at me curiously, this is when I realized that this was what he looked like. He had greyish brown hair with green eyes and wrinkles that formed on his forehead. "This is Emmett, I'm sure you've heard of him, he's quite the ladies man." David introduced the man next to him, he had black hair and brown eyes, currently wearing a flannel and kakis. "I'm Emmett Fredrick, you know me right? third time grammy nominee, second time grammy winner...." He continued to list his accomplishments as I interrupted him-"Well, I'm just Nova."
