---

Akaashi and [Name] have been friends ever since they were young, meeting through their parents who were good friends.

They were polar opposites, making people question on how they were able to get along. [Last Name] [First Name] was a girl who was very lively, loud and always has a smile on her face whereas, Akaashi Keiji was a man of few words, quiet and emotionless. Though they have different personalities, they did not let this get in-between them as; they are able to get along well and were often seen together.

It was only when both of them had entered high school, they spent lesser time with one another. As both of them, Akaashi and [Name] went to different schools. Due to their busy schedules, they were only able to meet up on weekends. Thus, the days they spent with each other were very precious to them, in which both of them treasured a lot.

Like any other weekend, today was no different.

After spending the entire day together outside, they decided to end the day by visiting the local park near their homes.

Where, [Name] being a clumsy girl she was, somehow managed to trip over thin air. Up till today, it still amazed Akaashi on how she was able to trip over nothing. This also made Akaashi worry about her well-being, knowing that he will not always be there to help her when something similar happens again.

Akaashi sighed, his brow furrowed as he cleaned up the wound and patched it up, "...done"

Standing up from the bench with a bit of difficulty, [Name] gave him a closed eye smile, "Thank you, Keiji! Sorry for always troubling you with this..."

"Be—"

"Ah! Look, Keiji!" [Name] exclaimed, cutting off his sentence, "The sunset!"

"It's beautiful..." [Name] said, eyes gleaming with joy.

Akaashi wordlessly gazed at her, before turning to look at the sunset, enjoying the silence between the both of them, "Yes, it is."

All the good times have to come to an end as it was time for both of them to get back home.

[Name] wobbled in her steps as she limped, forcing herself to walk. Seeing her having difficulties walking, Akaashi kneeled down in front of her. [Name], being the clueless girl she was questioned his actions.

"Get on."

"H-huh?!" [Name] blinked, surprised, clearly not expecting this.

Akaashi sighed, "I said, get on."

"W-what... No! I'm heavy and..." A dark flush of pink spread across [Name]'s face as she rambled on incoherent excuses.

Ignoring [Name]'s protest, Akaashi simply pulled her onto his back, easily lifting her up.

"E-eh? W-wait, let me down," [Name] struggled on his back, "Let me down, Keiji!"

"No." Akaashi tightened the hold on her legs, "I won't let go."

Hearing what he had said, [Name] finally gave up. Looping her arms around his neck, [Name] buried her head in the crook of his head, "Stupid, Keiji."

The walk home was a quiet one. The air was so fresh with the scent of night-flowering vines, and almost musical with the sound of crickets and calling birds.

"Hey... Keiji..." [Name] said softly.

Akaashi did not reply but [Name] knows that he had heard her. Nuzzling into the crook of his neck, [Name] whispered, "Thank you."

Seeing the tip of his ears red, [Name] giggled.

"You're so cute, Keiji!"

"...I'll drop you"

"You wouldn't!"
