*Patrick was the best of the four, and Ricky and Sarah were still learning. But their father called them all in for a meeting. Everyone was nervous but their father acted as though everything was alright. *
"I have some news. Three may think this is bad news and one may think it's good news." Father said.
"Who thinks it's good news?" We all said in unison.
"Patrick will be going to planet Urgin to find out more about how they live. He will be filling us in."
"What's the bad news then?" Stefanie asks.
"How long will he be gone?" Ricky asks.
Father pauses before he says, "To him it will feel like a few months. But to us it will feel like three years."
"What?", "How can we do it without him?", "Can we all go?". This was all said in the chaos. Patrick was stunned and wasn't sure if he could do it but what choice did he have. He can't let down his family and planet.
So that day he packed his bags said his goodbyes and left. Sarah cried, Ricky was confused and worried, and Stefanie was angry. Their father didn't know what to say or do so he just waited for everyone else to come to him.
