Hello and welcome to WIA Monthly!
WIA Monthly is a series of 12 chapters for each month of the year. At the end of each month, we feature a story that fits into the WIA genres (with the author's permission) that is has less than 20k reads to promote the story and give honest constructive criticism. You may choose to vote for your favorite story by commenting on the most recent parts and authors may submit their own stories. The 20k rule is only when it is submitted and doesn't count after the month ends.
Your vote counts for 25% of the story and the WIA staff's opinion counts for 75%. This means you can still submit your story without any votes and have a chance at being reviewed.
THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION. THIS IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEWING A STORY HONESTLY EACH MONTH AND PROMOTING IT.
PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED IF THE STORY YOU VOTE FOR IS NOT FEATURED.
WIA Monthly has the option to choose of their own opinion what story they should review for each month, this does not mean that your vote doesn't matter - because it may be featured next month. However, WIA Monthly does have a choice in what they review. Any negativity directed towards this project will be deleted / blocked and is not tolerated.
If you choose to vote, you must include:
1.) Why you want the story to be featured - please include detailed explanations and at least two sentences in your answer - if your comment is not detailed enough or does not have a valid reason (i.e I like her books, she has a cool fanbase, etc.), your comment will be disregarded and will not count as a vote.
2.) What the author's name is - this is for the benefit of WIA to easily find the story.
3.) A decent review of the story (whether it is completed or not). There isn't any minimum length, but enough to get the gist of the story.
After you vote, WIA Monthly has to take note of the story and take the time to read through it. Therefore, if you vote, you must have already read all of the published parts for your vote to be fair.
BASIC RULES/GUIDELINES:
You cannot vote for the same person more than ONCE for a single month. Voting for other authors for the same month is allowed, but the maximum number of people you may vote for is FOUR before you have to wait another month to vote again. If there is a story that doesn't win for the month they are selected, it is not necessary for them to be voted in again. Their votes are still valid until they end up being reviewed.
For less than 20k reads, authors that have over 30k+ followers by the end of the month cannot participate in this WIA Monthly. On the other hand, authors that start out with 30k+ followers are allowed to participate only if their story has less than 20k reads by the end of the month. That being said, WIA Monthly is to help promote authors who are talented in writing and have not been discovered yet.
The next guideline goes without saying, as a lot of people do speak about this to their followers, but please do not advertise your story in the comments! Unless you'd like your story to be submitted, send me a polite message and I will check out your story. If you comment an advertisement - I will delete it. No hard feelings.
If you do stumble upon someone who has advertised, please do not bring negativity towards them but rather message me instead and I will instantly delete it.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment them below.
COPYRIGHT:
WIA Monthly is inspired by OfTheWeek and their project. In no shape or form are we trying to recreate OfTheWeek / OfTheMonth, because while OfTheWeek has no genre restrictions, we are confined to the WIA genres only. If you are looking for the same concept but for every genre imaginable, please go ahead and check out OfTheWeek's page.
