Eventually, the crowd died down and it was just almost quiet as one at a funeral. As the clock ticked, each individual counted down the mere seconds left until the New Year.

Bullshit, he thought, grumbling at the noise of people shouting. This is just plain bullshit.

Though, his friends were intrigued by the continuous chants of numbers.

He looked at her blended with the others, barely smiling, but a small twitch on the corner of her lips appeared once as the time neared.

She suddenly met his eyes, and soon enough she was by he side, awing at the surprising few blasts of fireworks.

He smirked, looking at the expression on her face. The same expression he would love to see every moment.

The rest counted down from five, the next day beginning in the matter of seconds.

The fireworks appeared in the sky, the others cheering and pumping their fists in the air, as well as couples kissing.

She looked back at him smiling as he couldn't take it anymore, and pressed his lips to hers, his hands traveling up her face to cup her cheeks.

His eyes opened in shock as he felt her kissing back, but closed his eyes again to enjoy the few moments of her lips on his.

"Happy New Year, Levi."

"Same goes to you, Mikasa."
