The frosty gentle breeze blew through my auburn hair, following two of my brothers in the terrace, Jonathan and Maximilian, both had stolen my notebook that I have cherished because of its attractive design. I had to drag my short legs across the cold cemented floor, just chasing them on this rough surface. I could barely walk because of the sharp edged pebbles lying on the floor, the gloom also made it hard for me to see.
Soon, they got tired and threw the notebook at me, creasing a few leaves of the paper. We sat on the concrete banister, looking at the night sky. Waiting for the fireworks to fly and explode was a bit tedious, we let our legs swing back and forth while talking about what happened that whole year. Their quips would always give me the urge to leave the wretched terrace.
Lights shoot up to the sky, like a shooting star, then exploding into million of pieces. We sighed and looked up, staring at more fireworks blow up, the fire would rain all over the city and naturally fades. Jonathan suddenly brought up a random matter, wishing that he was with his girlfriend from Austria, Maximilian also mentioned his. That's when I thought about you.
I pulled out a pen and started to write down in my notebook. My brothers would laugh at me, telling that I was still writing 'till New Year's Eve. I wrote you a simple haiku that reminded of you and brought smile to my face.
"I looked at the sky,
undeniably lovely.
Lovely as you are."
