* Scarlet's POV *
Welcome to Mystical & Magical Academy!
Who knew that those words were greeting me to my doom? It was 3 years after the war ended, and the school still went on. It was as if no child could be trusted after the war in fear that they would start a new one. Such special treatment. I shook my head, shaking these thoughts away, and walked through the grand gates.
There was quite a few signs pointing around the school, all seemingly leading to one general direction. Dragging my luggage, I followed the arrows, whistling a merry tune to distract myself. This is just another school, feel no fear.
I never liked school, it wasn't that I was a considerably bad student. I was obedient to an extent, got decent grades. It was just that most teachers despised me, by "me", I mean my family name as an entirety. The Folias before me were apparently trouble makers, and every teacher thought of me as no different.
My hair consistently tried to block my vision. Sweeping away the red locks of hair I had, I tripped over the corner of the wall. Cursing quietly, I stood up to meet the eyes of someone else. "Hello." I put out my hand awkwardly. I wasn't even that shy, I just felt awkward. The girl was slightly older than me, probably by two or so years.
"Hello! Are you new here?" The girl shook my hand, when she let go, I slipped it back into my pocket. I nodded. I glanced over my back as if someone would spring out of nowhere to stop the conversation. My younger sister was more of the socialite, but she was too young to attend the school. I was alone.
"I'm Ryan, you?" This Ryan girl seemed to know the place. Too peppy for my taste, however. I tended to lean towards smaller groups, people mainly thought of me as the one with no general path. They saw me as a daredevil, but I was more of the quiet type. To clarify, being quiet does not make one shy.
"I'm Scarlet, you don't mind telling me where we're supposed to go, do you?" I tried to not sound like I was begging. Let's say that I wasn't terribly amazing at doing that.
"I believe the first years are supposed to go into the cafeteria, I'll lead you there if you want." Ryan shrugged, and moved a step towards the cafeteria, as if I already said yes. She beamed at me, as if no one commonly asked her for help.
I shook my head, "I'm good, I'll just follow these signs." I ignored Ryan's slightly disheartened look, which she quickly covered up. Dragging my luggage around, I continued to follow the arrows. I entered the already filled cafeteria. Several kids my age were chatting over in a corner, which I purposely swayed away from.
I decided to go put away my things first. Taking out a crumpled piece of paper in my pocket, I skimmed it over. G1, shoving the paper back in my pocket, I took out the map. I headed towards my dorm, continuing to whistle. I unpacked rather quickly. I wasn't in the mood to run into any fellow roommates at the moment either.
I decided to head towards the cafeteria again. I put my hood on and looked at the ground as I passed groups of people. So far, anyone who didn't know me well thought my red eyes as a bad omen.
Entering the cafeteria, I accidentally ran into a girl. She was about my age as far as I could tell.
"Sorry!" I backed up, instantly looking up. I was unsure what the girl's reaction would be.
* Abby's POV *
I walked into school, my side bangs starting to get annoying, they kept on covering my eyes. Sighing, I continued walking.
My name is Abby, Abby Aimera. I had golden brown hair, the color you would imagine autumn as. It's wavy, not too curly, not too straight, just in the middle. I have reddish brown eyes which can give me an intimidating look, but don't be fooled by it.
