BIRCH REID'S POV:

" My life is like a video game, trying hard to beat the stage.  All while I am still collecting coins-" My alarm goes off, then I turn it off.  I takes me a minute to realize that I am in my new room in Australia.  I turn to my side and look at my clock.

7: 25

School starts in 35 minutes, so I should probably get ready for my first day of my Senior year.  I roll out of bed and walk over to the bathroom that is connected to my room.  On the way, I turn on some music.  It just happens to be All Time Low, one of my favorite bands.

I change into a Black Veil Brides band tee, ripped black jeans, and knee-high black converse.  Then I stack my bracelets almost to my elbow on both arms, hiding some past memories of things I would rather not talk about and some recent ones that I would also not wish to mention.  Moving on....I comb through my red hair and slap on some mascara and eyeliner.  To top it all off, I put on a black beanie.  I get my bag, my phone and earbuds, while turning off my music.  I check the time.

7:43

Perfect timing, I think.  I walk down the stairs and silently walk out the door.  I don't even bother saying 'goodbye' to my parents and little sister.  They don't care.  They don't even realize I am here, half of the time.  The only thing they care about is my little sister.  I guess that does make sense.  Considering that she has Coronary Artery Disease.  However, shouldn't they realize that they have TWO daughters?  Geez.... anyway, I walk to school, since there is only a small strip of woods connecting my neighborhood and my new high school.

First day, should be fun...not, I think to myself.  At my old school, I had a hard time making friends.  Sure I had a select few, but not many.  I was made fun of for the way I dress and my personality and my music taste.  My favorite bands have been called "stupid" by my family and peers.  Well, they are anything but stupid.  They have saved my life more than twice.  I am scared that the same thing will happen at my new school. Please no.  One friend at least one.

I am almost to the entrance of the school and I hear laughing.  I turn my head towards the noise to find a group of girls giggling, whispering to each other, and of course the last thing I wanted...pointing at me.  All except one, who had her bleach-blonde hair pulled back out of her bright blue eyes and was looking at me with pitiful eyes then smiles widely.  I give a small smile back then sped-walked inside.  The first thing I notice is the amount of people.  My old school was way smaller than this.  I am going to have get used to this.  I shuffle along and at the same time against the crowd til I see a sign saying "Principal's Office".  I sigh in relief and walk in.

There is a older man in a suit with thin, brown hair and brown eyes scanning over papers through narrow glasses at the desk.  I close the door and stand there thinking that he might say something or even notice me.  Nope, okay.  I clear my throat and he finally looks up.

" Ah, you must be", he looks down at a paper," Miss Reid.  Am I correct?" He looks up and smiles at me.  I nod. "Well here's your locker number and combination and your schedule."  He hands me to slips of paper. "Go along to first period you might be a bit late so I'll right you note." He says and writes something on a sticky note then hands that to me as well. "Have a great first day." He smiles.  I smile and head back out to the hallway.
