The Vampires of this World and Me
It is early morning, the sun is shining brightly, and you’re already dying. Your eyes are still shut, you don’t even want to open them yet, but your ears are already hurting from some harsh pieces of advice that you’ve already heard a thousand times over before. —If you could only remove them for a while so that they could rest from the noisy daily exercise.
—The Mother
You rise up from bed and do your routine. Like a wind-me-up doll, you dance according to the tune of the rotting music box even though there’s already a broken note that keeps yakking in your ears. Always, again and again, and forever and a day, it is always the difference that is summed up. —If there’s only a genius that could see that your minus in a good way.
—The Relatives
Like a paper stained with a single dot, only the dot is seen and even magnified until the dot becomes a blotch and multiplies up to the point where there’s nothing left of the white sheet of paper. —If you could only gouge out the silly and ill observations and duck tape the descriptive and destructive discrimination, you would, but you can’t.
—The People Around
Ill-fitted or ill-fated, which is which and which is some sort of a witch’s curse? Choices and options are laid before your eyes, but your hands are bounded by shackles of flesh, blood and bones. You could never deny the existence of the shackle or the manacle for your existence is born from both. The jingling annoyance attached to your struggles never disappears, you just get used to it like a record you never like, but always hear. —If only pressing the stop button doesn’t mean a lost, you’d practically press it and not wish for it to change onto a pause button instead.
—Family Traditions and Habits
You get on a bumpy ride, smiling and frowning at the same time. Like a silly clown showing grimace towards the orchestra of random lies and chattering nonsense around you, you just observe and continue to laugh while impatiently tapping your big shoes, waiting for your stop. —If it is only unnecessary to see the unnecessary then you’d really smile and calmly sit back while waiting for the car to drop you to your temporary destination.
—Pollution
The burning sensation you feel in your tanning skin can make anyone wish that it rains, but when it does, everybody eventually curses while their lush mother, their only home and cradle, and their greatest of slave rejoices. —If you could only hear her crying when you ignore your duty to her, you’d cry for her as well and not act like a hypocrite and do things that destroy her.
—The Ever-changing Weather
Your once white smooth cover is now burned inside-out and your roughened edges cuts, slices and bleeds at the same time as the shoulder you used to flood blew up like a dam. —If there could only be a well deep enough that you’d hear a casted stone lose its sound, you’d dive straight into its darkness and say ‘see you’ to the light.
—Arguments and Misunderstandings
Failures and expectations, like the clothed white hare you run frantic as your life is dictated by the ticking laughter. Throwing the device and destroying the cogs doesn’t erase the existence of its purpose and its slowly creeping behind you. Fearing the worse, you’d runaway, laughing with the others as you feign ignorance to what’s really happening, which only turns you to a bigger moron. —If only there’s no end, you would start to work for the reason that you’re looking for the end.
—Mistakes and Time
You raise your hand, trying to catch up and resist the fact that you might drown in shame, but you often get ignored. Your vain efforts way you down, but you still press fort. Reading to get some answer to questions you expect to be stated, but in the end, tension gets you and you get too nervous to answer what you know. —If you could only stand up and not be laughed at by the knowing few and the irrational crowd, you’d speak up and be heard.
—Regret
The things unknown to you keeps bugging you, crushing you bit by bit as you try to build up the confidence to be convinced enough to go and move on so you could think that the unknown will just come by and surprise you and that later on you’d be able to accept it even though you really don’t know if it will really come. —If you could only realize that these ‘what ifs’ are possible like breathing in polluted air and respire fresh carbon dioxide, you’d grab every chance you see and not hesitate.
—The Future
Though hacked off the knee by the axe of cruel comparisons, you still need to step your best foot forward and continue to walk the steep and uncertain path guided by this flickering light that some calls destiny while known to you that beside your are the rope of the mortifying reality and the alarming scenery of a high land which you could fall into any time. —If you could only focus on what is ahead of you, your hesitations and doubts might disappear, but your natural curiosity keeps calling out to you and you can’t help but to see how dangerous it really is.
—The Critics and the Risks
It’s a real pain in the neck, but these vampires of the modern day world are keeping you tied down by your whims, but hoping that you can break free is not so bad… right?
—End?
