Kaitlyn's POV

I woke to my alarm clock ringing. I looked at, startled. I nearly overslept! I was supposed to up 15 minutes ago, and I only had 10 minutes to get ready. Great, I thought. Just great.
I quickly combed my boy-short auburn hair and brushed my teeth real quick. I slipped on my new dress and heels. I applied light makeup and all my breathtakingly beautiful new jewellery. It felt good to be in the dress, like it was made for me. Literally, made for me.
I rushed downstairs and grabbed my bag, my phone and rushed out the door. "No breakfast?" Dad called. "No... time" I exclaimed. Dad shrugged and went back to his newspaper-which was odd because he normally read the news on his tablet.###
By the time I got to school I saw Shile and waved, but she grabbed me by the arm and pulled me to a corner. "What're you-" "Shh!" I was kind of stunned to be honest. She was normally all bubbly and cheerful and never-I mean never-this serious or tense. "What is it?" I whispered.
She pulled away slowly and said, "Thee and I, are missing our graduation. I have our diplomas here-" she handed me my diploma and carried on. "I'll explain in the taxi. Just trust me OK?" I nodded.
"Follow me" she said. I did as instructed and followed her to the back of the school and there was a taxi waiting for us there. As we climbed in I noticed that the taxi driver wasn't...exactly...human. As he turned around, I noticed that he only had one eye. A Cyclopes.
I shuddered when Shile said "Youseff! Thank gods thee are here. Take us to the woods quickly. Here, it was hard to find, but I got one. One golden drachma." The Cyclopes smiled, thanked her and started the car.
"How do you know him?" I whispered. Shile smiled. "Ok, thee weren't supposed to know this until thee started college-" "College?"
"Don't ask. Long story. But we don't have much time. I'll say it now, quickly, and thee have to promise to never say the word out-loud. The shadow soul is getting weaker. He needs thee, only thee to survive. Thee have the powers he needs."
She looked at me expectantly. I shrugged, "Secret powers? Am I a superhero? Am I immor-" she slapped me and growled. "Yes! Thee are, indeed, immortal. Don't say it-it'll drive attention. Yes. Thee are." "How?..."
"Look, there's a lot to take in, but thee can't go saying that word, all willy-nilly. Thee need to take this seriously, OK?" I nodded and I thought I heard a sob coming from the Cyclopes. I gave Shile a questioning look. "He may look tough, but he's a real softie. He loves when people discover who they really are." I nodded even though I wasn't really sure what she meant.
"Here we are!" Shile beamed. "The woods, my favourite!" "Ok?" She looked up at me, confused, but then she she sighed and said to herself, "I still have to tell her.." I frowned. "Tell me what?"
"I'll tell thee later. Thee will find out thyself. But there's a lot of other things thee have to know. Immortals don't age right?" I nodded. Then I frowned. She smiled. "Thee turned immortal at 18. I would've told thee at college, because in November you'd turn 19, right? Wrong."
"I don't understand. How can I be-" She held out her hand to silence me. "What about-" "What about 'The Shadow Soul?' Yes, he is growing weaker. He needs an immortal to heal him. Make him immortal. Get it?" I nodded. "But surely I'm not the only immortal in the world..."
She looked away and said in a small voice, "I'm afraid at the moment, yes, you are the last immortal within reach. Not in the world, there are a few others, but you are the only one he knows of." She turned back to me. We locked eyes, and I could see the sadness in her face. She was telling the truth.
"Is there anything else?" She nodded slowly. "My divine form. Thee have yet to see. We shall do it quickly." "Oh, before you show me what your divine form is, why bother buying the dresses yesterday?"
She perked up at that. "Well, you have to look your absolute best for Nightmare Shadai-The Shadow Soul's... How would I put it?... Servant. She loves people looking good at meetings. Thee would think it wise to please her. She's..."
She shook her head. "We do not have much time. I shall show thee my divine form and we shall head for our meeting with Nightmare Shadai."
I nodded. Shile took a deep breath and readied herself. There was a bright light that made me shut my eyes. When I opened them, right in from of me, was a black wolf with a white belly and red stripes. She had a pure gold collar with a Garnet in the middle of it. I couldn't help but gasp. Another flash of light, and she was back to the Shile I always knew.
"What?.." She managed a smile and said. "I am a werewolf. I've been like this for the past decade. I was cursed. No, more of a blessing from my point of view. Now, let's get going."
