I should've known that it was just a dream. I got warned about it. But did I listen? Of course not. They all told me that I should stop dreaming...
...
It was the middle of the night and I was sitting on the window sill and looking outside. I woke up from the heavily pouring rain and loud thunder. I was just staring at the rain and thinking.
My name is Alex and I'm a 23 year old female who lives alone in her own apartment. I didn't mind living alone though. It was quite nice to be honest. I could do what I want and everything was so peaceful.
A sudden flash in a form of lightning threw me back from my thoughts. I gave the city of London one last glance as I made my way back to the bed and got under the warm covers. The bed was so comfortable and warm that I slowly drifted back to sleep, ignoring the sounds of the storm outside.
...
I woke up from my alarm going off and almost fell out of my bed. Truly a great way to start a Monday morning.
I slowly stretched, got to my feet and made my way to the bathroom. I turned on the sink and splashed the cold water on my face to get rid of the remains of tiredness. I looked up in the mirror to look at myself. As usually I had my black colored bed hair, my gray eyes were still bloodshot from crying yesterday and my face was still as pale as always.
I splashed my face with the already running water and quickly fixed my hair. After that I took a quick shower and went back to the bedroom to get dressed.
I opened my closet and took out some items, such as a black hoodie, a pair of jeans, a white shirt with straps and some socks. I got dressed and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.
I took a bowl, poured some cereal in it and added milk. People have said that I act like a child since I eat cereal for breakfast, but I didn't care enough to get offended by what they thought.
Suddenly my phone started ringing and I stopped eating my breakfast. I looked at the screen to notice the name "Michael" in the middle of it.
I sighed and picked it up.
"Wake up already Alex!", Michael's voice blasted through the phone.
"Calm down, Michael, I'm already awake. Good morning.", I sighed.
"Well then good morning miss "I'm awake" you're late for work again!", he sounded annoyed.
"Wait what. I'm not. It's -", I got confused and looked at the time.
"It's eleven and your shift started a hour ago, Alex!", he finished my sentence, "This is the last time when I cover for you, you've got 30 minutes so be fast and get to work."
"Thank you Michael!" , I thanked him and hung up. I quickly finished my cereal, put on my coat and black converses and got out of the apartment, meeting the cold autumn morning.
