“Melba! Boy, am I so excited for tonight!”

“So, Mary, do you have an idea with what we’ll do once we arrive at the hotel?”

“I don’t know – Hey – It’s your birthday! You ought to decide what we’ll do.”

Mary and Melba have been best friends ever since they have first met each other at school. From then on, they grew close with each other.

      “All right, then.”

“Then… think Melba!” Mary exclaimed in a joking manner. “Think!”

Mary is a happy-go-lucky type of gal. She is very open to other people. You’ll always see her with a great big smile upon her face. She especially loves to laugh. Even with the corniest joke, she’ll give a good, long laugh. Mary loves to stay outdoors and try to have and active lifestyle. She is four months older than Melba.

      “Mary! I don’t know what to do…”

      “What?” Mary called out.

“– I mean, there’s a whole lot of wonderful things and stuff and amazing’ facilities to check out…”

On the other hand, Melba is soft-spoken and shy. When with a crowd of people, you might not seem to notice her because she is very timid. But when she speaks, she speaks with emotion and matching facial expression. This makes Mary laugh – so hard. Melba prefers staying indoors, where she’s most comfortable at.

“Oh, as long as I’ll swim in the pool tonight, I’m practically okay with... whatever comes into your mind when we get there.” Mary finally decided with what she’ll do.

Mary and Melba are to spend two days and a night in a well-known hotel-resort called the “Bayanihan Hotel”. Melba’s relative gave her an “overnight gift coupon for two” as a birthday gift. But before they could go inside the hotel, they must patiently wait until four o’clock for their classes to end – and for their semestral break to begin.
