Silence.
The world was in silence as the first rays of light broke through the darkness.
The wind picked up slightly as the sky lightened. The light made it more difficult to hide. The figure decided it was time to move on. The best way to avoid capture was not to be constantly on the move but to stay in one place and wait out the search parties. It helped to be scentless.
The figure slowly slipped out of the hole. Even the dim light dazed it after spending the immediate past in complete darkness.
Keeping close to the ground to avoid being seen and not to put more pressure on the injured areas then was necessary.
By the time the sun was high in the sky, the figure was long gone, leaving no traces that it had ever been.
