Part 12

Ezri went back to Mexico and decided to take Clyde with her to show him some of his roots. I was surprised myself that Clyde agreed to go. Even if Clyde was going to come back in three days. I just hope he has fun and doesn't get scared. And with Ezri's attitude towards Milo, she decided to make it up to me by giving me a three day vacation. But so far, it's been boring without Clyde.

I sit on the couch with Jocelyn as we watch another daytime talk show. She looks at the clock and sits up, "I got to go to work."

"This late?" I ask.

"Yeah, the school had to do a late start so some students can do testing. It's stupid," she shrugs and grabs her purse and coat.

"I'll bring home dinner," she says heading out the back door.

"Alright, bye," I wave to her and sit alone and look at my phone. I see Milo has text me saying he was coming over twenty minutes ago. There is a knock at the front door. I get up and see it's Milo as he smiles.

"Hey."

"Hey, um... you know Clyde is going to be gone for the rest of the week, right?"

"Yes, and I was wondering if you wanted to go out tonight?"

I smile and couldn't help but laugh.

"What?" Milo asks.

"Go out where? Have you forgotten where we live?"

"Oh come on, I was thinking Bar 9."

"Milo," I whine and walk into the house and slump on the couch and continue watching the awful daytime talk show. Milo enters himself and sits by me.

"Honestly Haze, when's the last time you treated yourself out without worrying about calling Anna or tucking Clyde into bed yourself?"

"I don't know," I shrug and grab a couch pillow to cover the stains on my shirt. Milo says and faces towards me.

"Haze, come on. Let's have a little fun tonight. I'll make it my treat."

"Why do you want me to go out so bad?" I ask.

"Just to have fun for one night," Milo shrugs.

I think about it. I don't have to worry about Clyde for the night. I haven't gone out ever since Clyde was born. I've been pretty much closed in. I look at Milo and he has a gentle look in his eyes.

"Fine," I sigh.

We smacks his hands together and laughs, "you're not going to regret tonight!"

I smile as he hugs me in and I try to get him off me. He stands up and smiles and sets his hands on his pocket. I watch the dust float off his jean jacket he's wearing today. He looks down and notices where my eyes are and demonstrates the jacket to me.

"Trying to go with a new look, what do you think?" he turns around.

"Looks good," I grin with my lips still pressed together.

"Good, now I have to go to work, but I'll meet you at the bar at seven, alright?"

"Sure thing," I smile. Milo smiles back and leaves from the back door. I watch him walk away from the kitchen window until I see him completely gone down the road. I take a deep breath and then run to my room until I see my closet in front of me. I skim through the clothes I have and I seem to have own graphic t-shirts and jeans nearly the same shade of blue. I groan with frustration, I look at the clock and see I have hours left to decide how I will look tonight.
