I was too afraid to touch the walls of the tunnel. We're they slimy or jagged? I didn't know. But I didn't have a light. My phone was still with my other belongings in Ms. Halsey's room. At least that's where I thought they were. They certainly weren't in the nurses office.
The tunnel turned to my left all of a sudden. I kept going until I saw a light. It was a flame, a torch. Behind it was a door. As I made my way to the light I wondered what could be behind that door, if it was open at all. I placed my hand on the doorknob. Locked.
"Wyatt."
"Ahh! Who's there!?"
The sound of the door lock clicked, and the door slowly opened.
Shit.
It was hard to decide to go in at first. But the whispering of my name was the deal breaker. The door shut all of a sudden when I was inside. Darkness, and then a beam of light showered the room with illumination. I placed myself within its ray. As I glanced up chills ran down my spine. I could see a small crate, the light coming through its holes. I heard the sound of thumps and stomping, music, the school anthem was playing. Where am I?
Of course! I was below the gym. And that's where everyone goes in emergencies. So this is where everyone went after the the fire alarm rang. I examined the room but there was only one door out, the one I came through.
"Help! Somebody!!!! Help me!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!"
No one could here me past the cheering and shouting. I felt my soul cry as I fell to the ground in my despair.
