DemetriI started making my way to the head building. The meet was about to start soon. I'd left Zoey alone, but I made sure Chase wouldn't come back. I left Marcus in charge of watching Zoey. Ms. Laila agreed too, once I told her Chase was there.
I was completely exhausted from the day. It was catching up to me. I felt powerless. It annoyed me.
Burnett saw me walk in. He walked towards me. "Walk straight in the room and take the third seat. We have special guests coming in."
I nodded. "Gotcha." I walked into the meeting room. The vampire quaestor and clan was there and the faerie court was there as well. Burnett walked in behind me. The witch elder walked in and took a seat. She was pretty old, but she looked wise as hell.
I took the third seat. We were just waiting for the wolve packs to come. Burnett took a seat next to me. "The vampire quaestor, look at her."
My eyes almost fell out my head. The quaestor looked just like Zoey. The woman's hair was longer though and her eyes were more slanted, but they had the same complexion, face structure and everything. Even their bodies looked the same. She glared at me as I stared. "What do you want, dog?"
I looked away quickly. "She even reminds me of Zoey when I first met her," I mumbled to Burnett.
Burnett chuckled. "I see."
The wolf pack walked in. A familiar scent assaulted my senses. My eyes grew wide. I looked the at the wolves in front of me, "Mom? Dad?"
Zoey
"Zaven! Zaven!" I screamed, giggling whilist I chased him.
Zaven turned and rolled his eyes. "Come here Zoey!"
I was too short to reach the rock he was sitting on. I was getting frustrated. "Zaven! I'm too small."
Zaven laughed and reached over to pull me up. He was four years older than me, so his vampires powers developed more quicker than mine. Vampires were normally advanced creatures, but since I was only eight at the time, I wasn't fully developed.
My little sister, Zel glared at me from afar. She was six at the time. She was always sickly, so she wasn't allowed to exert herself. Some vampires would get a blood disorder even though it was really rare. Zel needed vampire blood instead of human blood. She hated me since I was always active and she wasn't allowed to be that way.
Zaven picked me up and grinned, fangs and all. "See you made it."
"Barely," I sighed.
Daddy walked towards us. "Come it's dinner time."
Zaven looked up at father and nodded. "Yes father."
Daddy was always strict since he was the head clan member of the family. He always wanted to keep his family safe so he was always protecting us.
I was always grateful for him protecting mommy and the rest of us.
Zaven picked up Zel and pinched her cheeks. Zel rolled her eyes and told him to stop.
"Zoey," she said, "why don't you include me in your games?"
We walked into the dining room and there was our cook standing there, smiling at us. "Hello, children. Come take a seat, Mr. and Mrs. Draven will be joining you shortly."
Zaven put Zel into the mearestchair next to where mommy would sit. I took my place across Zel. Zaven sat next to Zel. Mommy amd Daddy walked into the dining room.
Mommy's purple dress looked beautiful on her. I smiled. "Hi mommy."
Mommy looked at me endearingly. "Hello Zoeria, did you have fun with your siblings?" She took a seat at the head of the table. Daddy took a seat at the other head of table.
Our cook, Miss Peppi came and placed our plates down. I lifted mine up quickly and licked my lips. Bloodied t-t-bone steak. My favorite. My little fangs enlongated. I took my knife and fork and proceeded to eat.
Mommy looked at me and laughed, "someone looks hungry."
I nodded eagerly. "Zaven seems hungry too."
Zaven raised his head from devouring his steak. He nodded enthusiasticly. "I'm starved, playing with you is a lot of work Zoey."
I giggled. "Sorry Zaven."
"Mr. Draven, I'm sorry to interrupt the family dinner, but intruders are in the estate towards the west lawn," Mr. Carmichael said. He was our head servant and always watched everyone in the house.
My daddy stood up quickly. "Werewolf?"
"Yes they wish to declare war on the Draven family," Mr. Carmichael replied.
My mother stood up quickly, "children, please come with me. Sergio, may you please retrieve Zel's wheelchair."
Mr. Carmichael nodded and grabbed it from the hall. He wheeled in near Zel. Zaven got up and picked up Zel. He placed her in the chair. Zel was such a weak vampire she always needed a wheelchair, since she always tired quickly. "To the safe house downstairs?"
Mom nodded. "Take your sisters there. Stay quiet, don't open until me or your father get there. Do not open for anyone else."
Zaven grabbed my hand. "Come, we'll be fine."
I held his hand tightly. "I'm scared."
"Mom and Dad can handle this. Don't worry." Zaven whelled Zel's wheelchair.
Glass shattered behind us as we made our way to the safe house hurriedly. I screamed and covered my head. "Keep runinng!" Mother shouted.
I turned my head slightly. From the perpherial vision, I saw a wholf jump through the window and jump on mom. I screamed.
Zaven tightened his grip on my hand. "Don't look back."
I turned my head back and stared at him. He nodded in support. "Here get in. We'll be safe."
I sat up quickly, gasping for air. These memories needed to stop. I kept thinking about the past and that wasn't good. Mom and dad weren't alive anymore. They were killed at the manor. I needed to remember that. Zel and Zaven were probably dead. This wasn't healthy.
"Zoey, get a grip of yourself," I mumbled.
Marcus looked up from his paper. "You okay Zoey?"
I nodded. "I'll be fine. Just had a nightmare. You're still here?"
"Of course. Dem told me to watch over you. That's what I'm doing,"
I rolled my eyes, "He's too protective," I stretched my back and sat up. I was feeling great, but still I needed more blood.
"He loves you. Of course he's gonna be protective."
"Well yeah. Hey, can you pass me a blood bag in that cooler?"
Marcus nodded. "Here," he got up, opened the cooler, then handed me it.
I grabbed in and nodded in thanks. I pulled the straw part and sucked on it hard. I drained it in seconds. "Yum."
Marcus raised his lip. "Gross."
I smiled with fangs and all. "Where's Dem?"
"Council meeting with Burnett."
"No!" I shouted, "h-he can't. . ."
"Why?"
"My cousin. . . The quaestor, she'll kill him."
