Vincent's POV:
As I carried her out to my new Lexus, I felt her tense in my arms. Yes, it was cold but I sensed that temperature wasn't her problem. She was so unstable, what did she see? She slowly turned to look at me with horror in her eyes. "Please don't give me back to him." She whispered.
She was shaking now and tear fell from her eyes. Give her to who? Who did she think I was taking her to? "Shhh. It's okay. I'm bringing you to the ER to fix up your leg. No ones gonna take you." I said as I slowly walked to my car.
She sighed in relief as I brought her to the passenger side and laid her down comfortably. She had stopped crying but still looked tense. Her eyes darted to my side of the car in alarm. I got into my side slowly and started the car. I looked at her then pulled out of my parking spot. She nervously glanced at the truck parked next to mine as we drove to the schools exit.
"You okay now?" I asked, grabbing her hand and squeezing it. She blew out some big breaths before replying.
"Yeah. Thank you. I'm sorry I'm such a wreck." She apologized, looking down at her hand I was holding. It felt good.
"No need to apologize. So, what's your schedule?" I asked, trying to get in a better topic. She pulled out a paper from her backpack.
"Period 1, math. 2, history. 3, Spanish. 4, lunch. 5, science. 6, art, and 7, choir." She read aloud from her schedule.
"Huh. We might have math, history, Spanish, lunch, and choir together! Who are your teachers?" She looked back at her schedule, trying to find the teachers column.
"Ummm. Ms. Sanders, Mr. Montgomery, Ms. Klobichar, and Ms. Hughes." She read.
"I don't have Mr. Montgomery but I have the rest! You can sit with me and my friends at lunch if you would like. " I asked.
I hoped that she'd say yes because I'd really like to get to know her. I looked over to Alexandra when her grip tightened on on my hand. She was having a panic attack as she looked at a car pulled up next to us at the stoplight.
I looked inside the truck and saw a scruffy man looking at her. He gave her a wicked grin as he pulled away. She whimpered and asked, "can you please drive somewhere that the truck isn't?"I looked at her more closely and saw how pleading her eyes were. I nodded and rubbed my finger on her hand and she soon calmed down. By the time we got to the ER, she was acting normally again.
I got out and watched her struggle to stand from the car. I rushed over and slung her arm over my shoulder. She tried to walk but almost slipped on an ice chunk. I sighed and picked her up again, carrying her inside.
Once inside, nurses rushed over with a wheelchair. I set her inside and pushed her down the hall to the waiting room.
"Thank you for all your help, Vincent. I must seem like such a whimp. You can leave if yo-"
I shook my head. "No, I'm gonna stay with you. Otherwise you'd never get back to school or home. Plus, I want to help." I looked at her and she smiled.
She was truly beautiful. She was tanned and slim. Her hair was curled and dark brown. She had brown and green eyes and seemed very independent.
Something bad must have happened to her and it was really affecting her life. I silently made a pledge to always be there to help her.
She looked at a newspaper from recently. The main story read "girl missing in New Orleans, found again." She read a few sentences then closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she ripped the paper in half.
After she ripped it, all eyes were on her. She threw the pieces into a nearby recycling bin and picked up another magazine. Finally, her name was called by a middle aged woman in scrubs.

Alexandra's POV:
This Vincent guy is very nice. He was pretty rude in the beginning, but now he's been very helpful.
After the doctors appointment, Vincent dropped me off at my house. He helped me inside and explained to my dad what had happened. My dad invited him to stay for dinner, and we all enjoyed some pizza.
After dinner Vincent helped me work the crutches. We did circles around the living room until I had them mastered. I would have to use them for a few weeks so I needed practice.
While I was doing laps, we talked. I learned that he plays football and used to play basketball. He enjoys swimming and has a cabin up north. He lives with his mom and dad and has a brother and two sisters.
I told him very few things and I think he caught on that I didn't want to talk about my life so much. He didn't even know that everything I said to him were lies.
I felt bad for lying but if I wanted to stay safe, I had to do it. I needed to make sure I don't let on any more about my past. Today I saw a guy that looked similar to Mark. I was getting worried that he'd find me here as well. My name was in the system as Alexandra but soon he'd catch on. I needed to be on high alert fur when it happened.

I'm not gonna work in a cover right now because im focusing on writing right now. This is very rough and I will edit these chapters when I feel like I've gotten far enough but as of right now in just putting my ideas out there.
