Deaf Girl

I wake up to my mom shaking me as she always does as she mouths good morning to me. Sitting up I sign good morning back to her and get up dreading the day as I always do in the morning. "Did u sleep well" she signs as I get up. Being as I am deaf my mom comes to wake me up every morning since I can't have an alarm clock for that obvious reason. Sitting my thumb on my chest and tapping twice I sign back "fine" as I get up and head for the bathroom.
Looking in the mirror I sigh. I am so plain I think to myself with my long wavy brown hair and brown eyes that are sometimes hazel so that's a plus I guess. I'm really short sadly only 5'2.
Getting out of the warmth of the shower I put on some faded skinny blue jeans and an old Harry potter shirt and blow dry my hair throwing it into a ponytail. Exiting the bathroom I see my little brother xander standing outside the door anxiously. I smile at him and sign good morning as he walks into the bathroom. Xander is 13 and is very grumpy in the morning. and afternoon. and evening know that I think about it. Maybe it's just towards me or something because I'm always getting the cold shoulder I think as I head down stairs to wear my mom and dad are know sitting.
"Hi sweetie" my dad mouths at me as I sit down pouring milk into a bowl of cereal that is already at the table. I smile at him letting him know that it was fine. My mom and dad have been happily married for a while now around 20 years.
I've been sitting at the table for about 7 minutes when I catch my mom waving her hand to get my attention " you better get going or you'll be late for school" she signs I had like 20 minutes until school started and it's a,short 5 minute walk to get there because it's literally a block away.
"I have time " I sign her directing her to the clock on the wall that clearly shows I have plenty of time.
"No you need to go now before you're late " I don't know what she's up to but I leave anyway not wanting to be disrespectful my mother.
Entering the hell thats called Franklin High School I head to my locker where I plan on staying because I have 10 minutes before the bell rings to go to class which sucks considering I have know one to hang out with. I've never been able to hear but I can read lips very well and people don't understand that. They think because I can't hear that I'm dumb which is not true at all. I can do what everyone else can but know one wants to give me a chance. Most people just pity me which I hate most as much as the ones who bully me for something I want was born with.
Reaching my locker I spin the combination thing as slowly as I can trying to kill time. I should have just stayed at the park killed time till it was time for school to start. Well to late know. Getting my book for my first class out I feel a presence behind me.
Turning around I see that it's Ashely Johnson my bully and the reason I come to school only 5 minutes before school starts.
"Hey deaf girl" she says while I just look at her. "You have nothing to say" she taunts at me. I turn around and close my locker hoping that the bell will ring soon and I can escape this girl. Grabbing my shoulder she spends me around.
"Hey, I was talking to you deaf girl" I wanted to tell her that my name is Charlotte and that she obviously couldn't take a hint and leave me alone because I obviously didn't want to deal with her.
I see one of her blonde minions come up to her and Ashley turns her head and says something that makes the other girl laugh. Hannah aka blonde minion gestures towards a group of boys who are walking into the school.
Flipping her hair Ashely turns her head whipping all of those stupid extensions in my face and rushing to the group of boys like a little puppy running to its owner.
The group of boys are the most popular in our whole school, the football players. They are all big and bulky all probably 6 feet tall but one always sticks out.
Kian Ross the main one of the group of boys the most popular of all the tallest and ironically the only none football player.
And he was looking directly at me.
