Chapter 1- A Competition?

Hi, I'm Taylor, but I normally get called Tay. I go to Oakrige High school and I can be known as one of  the 'bad' girls here along with my best friend Lauren- who I call Loz. When I say we are bad girls, I mean that to the fact that we are the most popular girls here, we go clubbing a lot, we skip classes and we bully the small kids. The only bad thing we don't do is smoke. Not after what happened a few years back.

I have known Lauren since I was about four, so you could say we were like sisters- what's mine is hers, and what's hers is mine. The only thing we disagree on is her liking of the band 'One Direction'. Oh, how I dislike those five boys. She acts like she is married to them, the way she constantly talks about them.

Moving on from that though, we are currently layed on the school field eating Haribo and drinking Lukozade instead of listening to our maths teacher moan on about things we will never need in life... like algebra. Right now in this moment, nothing could possibly go wrong...

"Miller, Williams. Why are you not in class?" Oh shit. Mr Jenkins found us.

"Um, we were expanding our learning skills outdoors. For example, if I had three Haribo sweets, and I ate two. How many would I have left Lauren?" Haha it's nice to know basic math questions.

"One. See, we are expanding our learning," She repeated with a smirk.

"Good try, girls. But if you like learning outside the classroom, then I guarantee that you will be pleased with the announcement before lunch," He replied.

"What announcement, are we having chips today? Loz asked.

"I don't think so Lauren, but you will find out if you get to class now. Chip chop girls," Stupid rules.

"Bye sir, see you last period," Sigh. I don't want p.e.

He waved us off as we slowly walked to class.

"Hey, do you think this announcement is worth listening to?" Lauren asked me.

"To be honest, no. But we better go just in case it is," I replied as we reached our class. Here we go.

"Miss Miller and Miss Williams, where on earth have you been?" Ooh it's someones time of the month.

"Well if I told you, then I would have to kill you, but because you will probably give us detentions anyway, I'm gonna say Japan," I said, taking a seat next to Josh- the captain of the football team. He is so hot!

"As much as I would love to believe you, I can't so detention in room 15 after school," She replied, taking me out of my thoughts about Josh.

I just rolled my eyes in response.

-Many boring maths notes and questions later-

"Would all female students between the ages fifteen and seventeen please report to the hall now, thank you," The speakers rang out. Off we go.

Me and Loz went to the hall for the announcement and sat down at the back.

"Hello girls, today we have a very exciting announcement to make. Earlier on this morning, the school received and e-mail from the Simon Cowell reading;

Dear Mrs Brown of Oakridge High school. We are very happy to announce that we are putting on a competition for girls between the ages of 15 and 17 from your school to enter. The winners will win a free trip to Sydney, Australia for 6 months, to stay with the British band One Direction. The five winners will be chosen by each member of the band and you will be notified of them on the 7th July 2013. We ensure complete safety for the chosen students and complete supervision for them whilst  they stay. Extra details for the trip are on the consent forms that will arrive with the surveys. Many thanks, Simon Cowell."

One Direction? Really? Lauren is gonna want me to do that with her, no doubt about it.

"Well as you heard, there are surveys for those interested to fill in, and consent forms will be given to the five that each member from One Direction chooses. The surveys must be completed by tomorrow and I will hand the surveys out as you leave. The results will be read out the following day. Thank you for listening girls, have a nice day," 

"Tay, did you here that? We have to try and get in, and one of the boys could choose mine! You know how much I love them! Please do it for me," Loz said on our way out. I just nodded in response and she grabbed two surveys. I swear when she is off about One Direction, she goes all good girl. There is definitely no way out of this.

We collected our letters and made our way to tha Canteen.

"Hey, get the fuck out of our way!" I shouted at the year 8's blocking the entrance to the canteen.

"Sorry," They spoke in unison and scurried out. I went in and  grabbed a ham sandwich and a can of Monster and Loz got the same, but orange juice instead. We went outside to eat our lunch and the jocks followed us. Despite them being dickheads, they were hot, so I didn't mind being around them.

"Hey girls, what was your little meeting about today?" Josh asked, slapping Lauren on the ass.

"Well, there is a competition and the five winners get to go to Australia and stay with One Direction," I spoke, taking a bite of my sandwich.

"Oh, who cares about them? They are just five singing queers th-" He got cut off by an angry Lauren.

"Shut the fuck up you little prick, they are not fucking gay! Don't be such a homophobic cunt!" She screamed and stormed off.

"Well done Josh! I guess I will be going," I said gathering my things and waving bye to them.

I caught up with Lauren and I calmed her down. Then we decided to get changed for p.e. Only because Sir saw us bunking off today and wont let us get away with it again.

-After School-

Me and Loz decided to miss our detention and head home. I dropped traces of homework in the public bin in our street so I didn't have to do it. It's too boring! Lauren lives next door to me, but she still came over to my house anyway.

"Hey Lauren, you staying for dinner honey?" My mum asked Loz as we walked in the door.

"Um, yeah if that's okay, I will just text my mum," She replied.

"Okay sweety, I hope you like pasta with sauce?" 

"Yep, one of my favourites as well, thank you," Lauren replied, smiling and we went up to my room.

When I'm around my mum, I change completely. Simply because she doesn't deserve to have a lazy, mean and disrespectful child around her. She needs support.

My room is quite big, turquoise walls with white flowers scattered on them. I have a soft double bed, a white wardrobe, white wooden shelves and a 40" TV. I also had a mirror hung up on my wall, which Loz was doing her hair in.

Lauren is gorgeous, with her natural long dirty blonde hair and hazel brown eyes. I wasn't that bad looking either, with chest length brown hair and ocean blue eyes.

Looking around my room, I spotted a picture of me and my dad at the park six years ago, only a year before he died. Me and mum will always miss him though, he was a truly amazing man.

"Hey, does my hair look nice pinned back or just straight?" Lauren asked me, adjusting the flower pin in her hair.

"I think it looks great like that, and you can keep that hair pin, I don't use it much,"

"Thanks Tay," She replied.

"Girls, it's ready!" My mum shouted up the stairs, pasta time! I smiled and walked down the stairs with Loz. What, a bad girl can't like a bowl of pasta now and then?
