"WAKE UP!!" Sullen screamed, jumping up from his bed. That was then when he realized he was in his bedroom, staring into the eyes of a very pissed off brother, and not at a beach. He sighed, running his fingers through his ruffled hair. He kept having the same dream for the past month and he's starting to think it's from his childhood. He couldn't remember much from his childhood ,since he barely had one, but he thinks this was from when he was actually allowed outside without watch.
He sighed and stared back at his brother blankly, waiting to be lecture. He was probably late to meet some girl his father had set him up with.
"You are late for your lunch meeting with Princess Zaria." Bingo. "And you know how father is going to react so get up and get dressed!" He yelled before walking out of the room and slamming the door shut. Sullen glared at the door for a moment before throwing the covers off him and walking into his bathroom. He took a shower using his favorite vanilla and pine scented soap. He finished washing and got out of the shower not even bothering getting a towel. He knew his skin would be dry by the time he made it to his closet. Water could never stay on his skin for over a minute before sizzling up into steam.
He opened his closet completely dry and pulled out a simple pair of black jeans and a white dress shirt. He pulled the white button up over his toned chest and tucked it into his pants. Being a prince in training, you have to be very fit and in shape to help yourself in a fight.
He sighed, thinking about the battle his kingdom would soon be in against Clytie because of his father's hatred towards them. He walked out of his room and down the grand staircase towards the door. The door was huge on inside with big 8 feet tall wooden doors while on the outside it was a small glass door. His father used magic to make it happen just in case a battle happen they wouldn't be found easily.
But the problem was his father only did the door and not the whole castle so it didn't really matter.
"Sullen! Sullen! Come play with us!" The faeries cried. He smiled softly at them and patted the head the closest one with his finger tip making her blush. "I will come back okay? First I need to take care of something." They, although a little reluctant, let him be on his way, making sure to make him promise that he will come back.
As he made his way to the garden, he stopped by the kitchen to say hello to his little brother. Rue, as usual, was being a pest. He was currently trying to steal one of the head chef's muffins only to have his hand hit with a spoon. He pouted at her, hoping his adorable boy charms will work on her. The chef snorted and walked away, taking the muffins with her.
Sullen snickered at him and gently tapped him on the shoulder. Rue turned around and smiled brightly at him.
"Brother! I thought you would be at the garden by now. Father has a princess waiting for you. I heard Zaria does not have the best patience ya know." Sullen smiled at his brother and ruffled his hair making the younger whine at him. His hair was messing enough and his brother ruffling it didn't make it any better.
"I know I just wanted to see what mischief you were up to. And to see if you wanted to go to the festival tonight. " Sullen whispered the last part in Rue's ear. If the cooks caught wind of them sneaking out, they would surely go straight to their father. Rue's eye brightened instantly before and he nodded his head fast.
"I had the faeries make a tunnel leading outside to the river, so we can take that. I heard there was a huge firework show at midnight!" Rue says, bouncing up and down. Sullen was excited too. It would be his first time outside the palace in two months. With training and meeting potential brides, he hadn't any energy left to sneak out at night. Remembering that he still had princess Zaria waiting, he rushed out the room and towards the garden. He would have flown, but the last thing he needs is another torn shirt. He made it to the garden door just as the princess was walking out.
