A news reporter steps in front of the camera as the cameraman counted down. Police surrounding everywhere making goosebumps form on her skin. Once he said go, that's when she spoke.
"Hello this is Mary Walters. I am here in front of the famous house of One Direction in Los Angeles where it appears to be that all four members were found dead. The only information they are giving out is, is that this happened approximately around midnight last night, that's what one of the witnesses who were their neighbors said. Unfortunately, the police have no further suspects, but once they do, they'll let us know. Back to you," She says almost choking up and the camera shuts off.
She notices two police officers walking out the front door while the last boy comes out. An idea popped into her head.
Mary then walks over to them and one of them rolled their eyes, "No, we're not giving out any information."
"No, I was actually wondering if I could maybe look through the house?" she asked.
"This is an investigation. We're not letting you in there," He said.
She sighed, "I'm not going to touch anything. I just want to see if there is anything in there that would be helpful for my story."
"Listen-" The police officer started, but the other one stopped him.
"You may go in," he said to her. She smiled and thanked him. They both walked away and she looked over at the front door of the house. The body bag that the paramedics were pushing brushed by her and she suddenly felt cold.
One step, two step, and a few steps later and she's in front of the door.
"Here goes nothing," she muttered and opened it.
All the lights were off, but from what she saw from the sunlight beaming through the window, the place still looked beautiful, except in the middle, the chandelier was on the floor and there was glass everywhere. To the left is a staircase which she believes leads to the bedroom.
"This is for my story," she whispered to herself, taking out her recorder from her pocket and pressed play.
"Lights are out. Chandelier on ground," she says as she steps over the glass pieces on the ground. Straight ahead to the left is the living room and to the right is the kitchen.
"Pots and pans in the kitchen are on the floor. Cushions from the couches are all over the place. The TV is cracked and hanging from the wall-"
A loud crash sound interrupted her which made her jump. She ran to the noise and it lead to upstairs.
"Who's there?" She called out, but no one responded.
"Please tell me that they had a cat or a dog they forgot about in here," she said. Curiosity took over her as she slowly walked up the stairs. Creaking from the stairs erupted as she pressed her foot down on the step. Once she got up the steps, another loud noise came from down the hall which made her squeal.
"Oh hell no!" She yelled running down the stairs. Before she could take another step, she heard someone calling her name.
Mary turned around with widen eyes.
"Who's there?" She called out again. She decided to walk down the hallway to a room where she believes the noise is coming from.
When she opened the door, she didn't see anyone which made her freeze. One thing caught her eye. On the dresser, there was a video camera. Right next to it was a picture of all of the band members.
"Why did the police leave this here?" she asked picking up the camera. Then, she heard the front door open downstairs and a voice spoke.
"Ms. Walters. I'm afraid we have to kick you out," the familiar police officers voice said. She put the video camera and recorder in her bag and she left that house.
She didn't know that she made the worse decision of her life at that moment.
