"I promise, Dean-o, we won't move again this year." Said a slightly exasperated John Winchester.
"You said that last time." Dean Winchester said, rolling his eyes and slumping down on the couch.
"Well, I have an extra long business trip, so that'll take some time off, plus, I don't plan on embarking on the financial roller coaster of moving for the rest of your high school career."
Dean sighed, "Okay. Whatever. Have fun doing whatever you do." He said waving a nonchalant hand at his dad.
"Alright, I'm heading out. Watch out for-"
"Sammy, uh huh. I know. Bye"
As soon as the door closed, Dean got up and started to unpack their things.
"Dean," Sam, Dean's little brother called out, "I'm hungry!"
"I know. Gimme a sec to unpack-OW!" He shouted the last part and dropped the box he was holding.
"What? What is it?" Sam said rushing forward.
Dean dropped to the floor and held his left forearm. Panting slightly, he looked down.
"The name-" he said, still panting, "It uh..it completed itself.."
It starts when your twelve. That's when the first letter appears. The first letter of the name of your soulmate. Gradually as you get older, more letters appear. By the time your in your sixteenth year, the name completes itself as it just had for Dean.
"Well?" Sam said eagerly.
"Well what?" Dean teased.
"What does it say??"
"Uh....Cas-Castiel?"
"What?"
"Castiel....that's uh odd."
"I'll say..." Sam said, running his fingers over the letter on his arm, J, "I wonder what mine will be!"
Sam had turned twelve just recently. When he woke up on his twelfth birthday he had eagerly checked his arm and found a faded J forming there. He had been so excited to show Dean.
Castiel...it sounded religious. Dean thought.
"Dean, I'm still hungry. That never changed."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming."
Still thinking about this "Castiel", Dean got to work making their dinner and preparing for school the next day.
