Blinded...by love? (A SasuNaruGaara fanfic)

Ch. 14

There was pure silence except for the chains and everyone's shallow breathing. 'What's gonna happen next?' I questioned mentally.

Crack! "Uggh!" I squealed out loud. I could feel pain in my chest and back. Crack! "Uggh!!" I squealed louder in pain. Crack! 'That's a whip. Why are they...' Crack! "Uggh!!" I screamed out as loud as I could.

"Shut up you stupid little brat!" A voice rang out.

"Sasori...There's no need for you to say things like that." Another voice, a deeper manlier voice rang out.

"But Pain...he's soooo annoying, just looking at him makes me wanna kill him." The voice that belonged to the one named Sasori whined out.

"That's enough Sasori. We're here for one thing and one thing only. Now shut up and watch and listen. Got that?!" The one named Pain shouted out at Sasori.

Sasori groaned and grumbled but shuts up before he could get yelled at again by any of the others that were present.

This all transpired while I was still chained up. Luckily nothing happened to me while they were arguing. 'So whoever was the one using the whip on me, must've stopped because of what happened and didn't want to get yelled at, for making me scream out in pain and have the situation that transpired worsen in the process.' I thought mentally. That's when I started to get an idea in my head and it gradually formulated into a plan that could possibly help me get the hell out of here.

Once I got done formulating my plan in my head, I also thought up of a way to heighten my hearing so as to be able to anticipate the next blow of the whip. You see, the plan was to use some of the fox spirits chakra to enhance my hearing. And since Kurama was hearing everything that was goinng on inside and out of my head, he piped up and said, 'Anything to help you get away from these creepy guys. Especially the one named Pain...I have a strange feeling about that one.'

Now that Kurama and I were in agreement, he lent me some of his chakra to heighten my hearing and to heal my wounds little by little so to not set the others off as to why I'm perfectly healed up from the lashing of the whip. He also lent some of his chakra to my arms so that I had some strength to hold myself up.

"Now Naruto...can you tell me how I can get my hands on the nine tails? I've heard that you're the only one in contact with it..." Pain asked.

Hearing him ask such a question, made me do a double take. "How do you know... Why?... How?..." I asked. 'This makes my plan worthless.' I told myself mentally.

'Maybe not Kit...With what he just said, it may come in handy with your escape from here.' Kurama mentioned.

'How is it gonna come in handy?' I questioned.

'Well, think about it Kit. He's asking you about how he can get his hands on the "nine tails", and nobody but yourself knows that you and I are now companions. The people in the village think that we haven't come to terms yet. How do I know that? I can sense it from them.  So, like I said, it may come as an advantage for us.' Kurama told me.

'Okay, I'll take your word for it.' I said to Kurama.

The conversation that Kurama and I just had, only took about 3 minutes. So it wasn't like the people in the room would notice the silence for that long.

"Why?..." I asked.

"Why what?" Pain questioned.

"Why do you ask such a stupid question when you already know the obvious answer? Why are you going after the tailed beasts? And most importantly of all, why would I tell you on how to get your hands on the nine tails?" I fired off my questions at him, hoping to catch him off-guard with them.

All of them kept quiet. 'That shut them up real quick.' I thought while chuckling mentally in my head.

"Well then, aren't you a smarty-pants?" One of them remarked. I smiled at their remark.

"Why yes I am. That's why they like me." I retorted with a smirk.

"I like him. Too bad though." Another voice rang out.

"Yes it is to bad, Deidara." One other said before all went quiet.

Time went by as they whipped and tortured me. They even went as far as to take away my sight. But in the end, it was all in vain since I didn't tell them how to get the nine tails.

In the Hidden Leaf Village, everybody was going frantic on Naruto's disappearance. Everybody looking everywhere possible. Even Suna, the Sand Village was helping with the search for Naruto.

Two particular Shinobi though were looking especially hard. One from Suna and the other from the Hidden Leaf Village. There names were none other than Gaara and Sasuke.

"Where could he be?" both of them said at the same time but in different areas of the Hidden Leaf Village.
