I was still unsure as to what was wrong with y/n after my parents and I were asked to leave the room, so I decided to find out for myself. As soon as the nurse left her room, I sneaked in, and walked up beside her bed. "You know I've heard of hospital food, but I've never seen anything like that", I said to y/n pointing to her food. She gave me a fake smile, and looked back at her food. She was different, something about her just seemed peculiar. There were many minutes of awkward silence. After what felt like hours, she finally opened her mouth to say something. "I'm sorry, but I really don't know who you are. I'm sure you've heard, I've lost parts of my memory." I was in disbelief at what y/n was telling me. I went numb and nothing could've prepared myself for those words that came out of her mouth. "N-no, that can't be. You're just a little confused, you were unconscious for a long time you'll reme-", I was cut off. "No, the doctors have already told me. Something about the cortex or whatever. I'm truly sorry but I just wanted you to know, you seemed familiar with me", y/n said. I didn't know what to say. "Well yeah, we met this summer, at music camp, we are barely acquaintances though", I assured her. "Oh", she said. "You sound surprised", I stated. She shrugged, "I don't know, it's just... When you kissed my forehead...I thought-." I quickly butted in, "oh no, I was just comforting you, that what friends do, right?" There was a moment of silence before I turned to see the same nurse that told me to leave, walk through the door. "Excuse me, family members only. You need to leave now."
