The other soldiers said I should write a journal incase I become a war hero. They were just teasing me, but I think it's a good idea, though I don’t see that happening with my current position. I am only a private, right out of training camp. I’m not going on the front lines, so I won’t get to shoot anyone, but according to the others, I shouldn’t be in a hurry to get there. I just hope I can be part of the action before the war is over.
