The battle lasted longer than I thought it was going to. We sustained heavy damage to infantry and lost lots of ammunition. But I managed to throw them back towards their retreat again. I don’t know how I did it though. One minute we are being hammered by new weaponry, and the next minute there is an explosion and they start running for their lives. I haven’t gotten the chance to talk with the men yet, but that explosion couldn’t have come from anything made by the army. Among the losses were three CPLs and one PFC. It is going to be hard work writing the letters to their families. I tried very hard to keep all of them safe.
