Dear Future Kushal,

It's 2048. I haven't got a single clue who's won the Oscar, or who's president, or what jeans are in fashion. I do not know what you've made of yourself, or if you have started with your ambition. I only understand that you're forty-five this year, and I, who has been living inside you all these years, whom you can call a mere thirteen-year-old, worries about you, has got hopes for you. I don't know if you've managed to burn down all the cholesterol, yet, or even if you have earned a single penny to buy a one-litre-Limca-bottle to wet your throat. Oh, come on, I don't know if Limca still exists!

So, first off, I want you to be funny and not-so-serious about everything. Tell me you've got a great build, or if you're still stout and podgy, because if you are, I'm gonna have to sneak the refrigerators for ice-cream and chocolates again. Mum caught me doing it once, told me I'll become a thick adult, so, just wanted to confirm.

How did I forge-?! I would have a baby by then! What's the name? How old is he/she? Have you named him/her Lynn? I always thought that. I trust he is still small, pronounces onion as 'awwwwwneon' and believes his teacher is always correct? Because teenagers [like me] love the annoying phase and don't even send you a friend request on FB. They feel embarrassed when their friends see their parents waving them good-bye, and.... it's an endless list! But age is just a number, right? I hope that you two are the best of friends.

Do you still listen to Eminem or Green Day music? I don't know if you even know if you even listen to these. But, at the moment, I love them. I also dunno if you even find time for putting headphones on your ears, the ears tired of listening stuff for forty-five years. If I could only get to know if likes are still likes, or if they aren't. I kept this letter in the locker of mine. Were you here for some business? What was it? Have you still got my/your wooden library?

I'm working hard today to ensure that the Future Kushal gets less burden on his shoulders. But I also want to see him working. I hope you'll never cease, and remove the word 'loser' from your dictionary.

I'm hoping that you've finally got a novel published. Or a trilogy. I don't know if you'll agree to a teenager's advice, but keep in mind: Keep writing and never lose hope. Even if it goes a flop. That's what mother says, anyway. Never hate writing. Even if no one buys it, but your old mother. I hope you've opened a hospital of yours by now. And I believe (pure guess) you are reading this letter after doing a serious heart/brain operation. While working, do your fingers itch? I always thought they would. Hoped they wouldn't.

Tell me, Kushal, did you find any of my old mates in the future? Aaditya, or Arindam, maybe? I'm sure they'll all look funny with a beard- haha!

Do you remember something of my time? The moments of fun, happiness when Messi scored a goal, and how I used to dance around. Sometimes at school, we...wait...do schools exist? Are their any teachers and paper notebooks? I don't think so. I get it that each child has got a MacBook Pro and....wait a sec... what about my laptop? The day I brought it, I swore to keep it safe, and treat it as a brother. Do I care for it now? Or just throw it around? And I had one more query. Do paperbacks still exist? Or are there only Ebooks left? Oh, how I craved paperbacks! The feeling of turning of page....Do you still read Harry Potter or Inheritance?

Where do you live?I would to see the present place where you do. I hope it's a big nice house, in which you enjoy your life.Do you have a goatee? Ha! Sometime I just think about your time, and the first thing that comes to my mind is- Technology. How is the technology development? I guess time machine and teleportation are common. Is communication with aliens possible? How did they protect the humans from global warming? Ahh— I've still got loads more questions. {SNEEKPEEK} Have you done corruption? My only advice is this- don't become an obnoxious person.

I'm hoping that you've located quiet, peaceful places in your thoughts and hearts. When it gets too dark, you can go there. Have you got your own private house? Mum would love to see it. And I would love to watch the fine writing table of yours, where you can go every morning to continue where you left.

Know one thing- I poise great plans for you and me. Their success depends on both of us if we want them to be successful. Anyway, how's father? Is he still on about the brisk morning walks? I trust skinny and tattered jeans are out of order. How's the future Kunvar(my real life brother)— still nosy about things? Are we still friends more than brothers? Do we still fight for each bit of chocolate? Ha! C'mon, tell me you don't. And yeah... is he still addicted to espresso? He says 'it's best when it's bitter.' Is it the same at the minute, in 2048? Or does he even like coffee at all now? If he doesn't , then...

A hot chocolate, maybe?

Your past, present and future,

Kushal
