The doctor talked to them about how they should not make loud noises around Oli because he had a concussion and it was serious. He handed them some medicine "here, you should give this so him every four hours or so. Make sure when you fill the syringe it's at the exact point, and when you give it to him make sure none gets out because he needs it all. After he stays the night here, you will need to bring him back in about ten days. You can go out to the front desk to make that appointment."
Mikey grabbed Oli very slowly and Helena sat down to hold him. He slipped out into the hallway and called his mother. "Hello," he heard from the other line "hey mooooom. Huge favor" she yawned "what?" "So you know how my baby makes loud noises?" He heard a cry "nope" he shuffled towards the door and looked at the Oli "well I need you to watch her for ten days" "why, is Oliver okay?" A moment passed "hello?" His mother asked "oh, yes, he's fine he just has a concussion and can't be around loud noises" "okay well take care! I will have her back in ten days!" Chuckles came from the other phone "thanks ma" he said as he hung up.
Helena stared out the window near the hospital bed. She started to cry. She didn't want Mikey to hear her, she looked at Oli and stroked his face"I'm so sorry baby, I told you I would never hurt you the day you were born, and look at you-" she came across a bump on his temple. It was dark purple.
She ran out of the room terrified "Doctor!" She screamed once she was out of the room "Helena be quite!" Mikey warned her, she was a hot mess. She frantically told him "there- there is a bump on his head and- I'm so scared Mikey!" She dug her face into his chest and grabbed fist fulls of his jacket then sobbed.
The doctors asked what was wrong "Helena found a bump on Oliver's head" the doctors went into the room. She heard one of them say "I don't know how we could have missed that!" Another said "we can't send him home tomorrow!"
Dr. Purdy came out of the room and consulted Helena "honey, the doctors have to do a brain scan on Oliver, he may have taken quite a tragic fall" Helena held her mouth and tried not to cry. "They are doing it right now free of charge because they didn't see the bump, which was a huge favor because it is not cheap to have that done" Helena took her hand away from her mouth I did this to him she thought and put her face in her hands I'm a terrible mother.
Right at that moment she thought of her father, her father Oliver. The one who killed himself because of her. She had hurt both Oliver's who have been in her life.
"Helena? Are you listening" she snapped her self back into gear "yes, I'm so sorry" Dr. Purdy smiled " well what I said was , the bump you found on his head was solid, it looks like it has actually been there for quite a bit of time now, have you noticed it before?" She folded her hands " if I had noticed it before I would have came in right away," she looked at Mikey standing in the hall waiting for the doctors to comeback to tell him what happened, "do you know what could it could be?" She asked "the bump?" Doctor Purdy sighed, " it could be many things, thats why they are doing the scan, to figure out exactly what it is"
Helena went to the room where Oli lay before the scan. She sat in the chair and drifted out of conciseness. She dreamt about Oli, and he was fine too, he was walking (which the twins just refused to do) and before she met with absolute serenity, she woke up. And how her neck hurt from sleeping in a chair.
She gazed out the window to see Mikey talking to the doctor, brain scan results, she thought, she looked at the bed, and Oli wasn't there. She turned back the the window and her heart dropped an shattered and it did this because this was the first time she has ever seen Micheal Greene cry.
