Caroline's POV

I broke my own rules. It took longer to get to Camp Half-blood. We were attacked by many monsters even though we only stayed a night in each town. Normally it would only take like 7 hours. But with all of the monsters slowing us down it took longer.

In that time I got to know Savannah. I tried to be cold with her but she was good company. She didn't get angry with my silence like I would've thought.

It took almost 2 weeks to get there. We were outnumbered by 7 huge monsters. I didn't have a weapon for Savannah to use, so she was practically defenseless. The monsters were mostly targeting her so I had to be in front to protect her.

One of the monsters had snuck around me and grabbed Savannah. I turned around to fight the monster but then pain consumed me.

I looked down. One of the monsters clawed across my chest. Blood seeped from the deep wounds. I slashed the things neck and stabbed through another one's chest. I turned back to Savannah and stabbed the monster that was attacking her. But there were still 4 monsters.

I tried to defend myself I really did. But I was Losing so much blood. My vision got blurry. I crumbled to the ground. Everything was fading. The last thing I remember is Savannah yelling my name.

"You're awake. That's good."

My vision was slowly coming back. I heard a voice I never expected to hear again.

"Nico," I said. My vision cleared and I could see him fully.

He had changed a lot. He was actually tan now. When we dated he was pale. His hair was cut short on the sides but longer on the top. I could see a tattoo peeking out of his t-shirt on his collar bone.

"Savannah for you here after you passed out. You're mostly healed," Nico told me.

I nodded. Nico stood up and slowly walked over to me. Then he say down at my feet on the bed.

"I missed you," he whispered.

It was almost too much at once. I had just woken up next to someone I didn't expect to see any time soon. I didn't know where Savannah was or if she was claimed by her father. I did miss him though. I thought about him a lot but I tried to focus my attention on anything else.

"I missed you too," I said.

Nico moved upward on the bed. Now he was brushing his arm against mine. My eyes widened when he leaned forward.

My mind was racing with thoughts. My heart was beating faster as he got closer. My mouth was almost watering to kiss him. Nico missed me gently. I accepted his kiss. When he pulled away I changed topics.

"How is Savannah?" I asked.

Nico leaned away and shrugged.

"She got you here. I brought you to the infirmary. Savannah followed us here. Chiron took her once we got you stable and the bleeding was stopped. I haven't seen her since," he explained.

"Is she still here?" I asked him.

"I mean, I haven't left you since you two arrived," Nico replied. I opened my mouth to talk when someone else walked in.

"Hello, Caroline. You might not remember me but my name is Will Solace. I just came to check on you. By the way, Savannah just got claimed in case you wanted to know," Will announced.

"Can I see her?" I asked. Will checked all of my vitals and made sure I was good to go. Nico and I then went to find Savannah.

We found her with Chiron by the cabins. When she saw me she grinned.

She looked completely different now. Her hair was down. She was dressed in a orange camp short and right shorts.

"Nico, meet your sister Savannah," Chiron said. His eyes looked confused. I was going to say something but Savannah hugged me.

"Thank you for saving me," I told Savannah. She pulled back and smiled.

"No problem. One day at a time remember?"

A/N

I didn't really know how to end this
