Skipping school

            CHAPTER FIVE

  It took everything I had in me to limp through the school gate, I pulled my hood around my face tighter & kept my eyes firmly planted on the ground.

   Just as I neared the doors a figure stepped into my path stopping me "where did you disappear to last night?" I lifted my eyes to find Grog standing in front of me "I, I told you that I had a curfew" I whispered almost angrily since I got beaten because of them.

  Grog searched my eyes then nodded "okay, well how did you get home exactly?" I found myself blushing guiltily like I had done something wrong "J, Jace took me."

  Grog eyes went wide his mouth opened & closed a few times before he managed to breathe "Ace took you, now why would my home boy do something like that?" I shrugged "maybe because he wanted to tell me that I was a freak & that you were better off without some rich freak in your life."

  As I went to walk away he grabbed my arm pulling me to a stop "I hope you didn't believe him because Harley & I love having you as a friend & I for one don't care that your rich or that you dress differently to most girls here because that doesn't make you a freak Kitty Kat that just makes you unique."

  Pulling my arm from his grasp quite harshly I quickly limped away from him & through the doors before he could stop me again but that didn't stop him from giving chase "Kitty Kat wait" I ignored him & kept walking "for gods sake will you please just stop & talk to me."

  Harley stepped into my path & because I wasn't watching where I was going I slammed right into her, falling down & hurting every part of me all over again, I let out a gasp of pain & bit my lip to stop the curse words from slipping out.

   A hand was stuck out in front of me "sorry Kitty Kat but if you had been watching where you were going instead of glaring at the ground then you would have seen me" I ignored her offered hand & tried to get up by myself but with a yelp of pain I fell back down when my legs refused to corporate.

  Someone behind me gave an angry sigh then I was grabbed under the arms & lifted quite forcibly of the ground, I put most of my weight on my left leg to try & ease the pain in my right when the person that yanked me up let go & stepped away "I, I need to get to class" I muttered.

   Harley looked me over her eyes showing anger "I am going to kill those sluts" I looked away from her & gave a sad sigh "they had nothing to do with this" I flinched when she gave a cold laugh "yeah right, you want me to believe that those cheerleading sluts didn't hurt you again?" I quickly glanced at her then away again "I, it wasn't them & that's all I am saying."

   Harley shared a look with the guys standing behind me then gave a nod "alright I can see you're not ready to tell us what the hell is going on but it is also obvious that you are in no condition to attend any classes today so you can just ditch with us."

  Taking a step back from her I furiously shook my head "n, no way after missing curfew there is no way I am going to skip school too" I gave a yelp when my arm was caught "stop being a stubborn bitch when my friends are obviously just trying to be nice & help you."

  Yanking my arm from their grasp I stumbled away before turning to look at them all "I, I don't need anyone to feel sorry for me, I don't need anyone's help s, so please just leave me alone."

  Grog & Harley looked at me almost sadly while their tall scary friend just glared at me making me want to somehow take all my stuttered words back & just agree to go with them but then I would just feel like their charity case someone that they were only hanging around with because they felt sorry for me & that was something I never wanted.
