(Jade's POV)
I awoke in a hospital room, lying on a soft bed with clean white sheets. I slowly lifted my head up to scan the room. Nobody else was there. I glanced at my left arm to find it wrapped up in a cast and a sling. It felt heavy and sore. Using my right hand, I brought my fingers to my face and felt a large cut on my forehead and few small cuts on my cheeks. The rest of my body looked fine though. I rested my head back on the pillow and let the memories of that painful and scary night flood back to me. I remembered seeing Perrie get attacked by Ryan and thought about how much that must have hurt her physically and emotionally. Just as a tear fell from one of my eyes, a middle-aged woman wearing a white uniform walked in and introduced herself as Dr. Gomez. She told me I was going to be able to go home very soon, probably tomorrow morning, since my only serious injury was a broken arm. Dr. Gomez explained to me that last night, the police had gotten several worried calls from people in the hotel rooms surrounding us, stating that there was a lot of thudding and screaming coming from Perrie's room. The police arrived in the room to find Perrie unconsciously lying on the floor, and Ryan throwing punches at me. Ryan has been put in jail for trespassing and assault. I tried to process all the information just given to me, then I anxiously asked her, "Where is Perrie? How is she? Is she alright?". Dr. Gomez took a deep breath and said, "Perrie is also here, just down the hall in her own room. She's currently still unconscious. She lost a lot of blood last night and has some broken ribs. We had her receive surgery this morning. We are doing everything we can to help her". I couldn't believe what was happening. I opened my mouth to ask when she would wake up and when everything was going to be back to normal, but all that came out was a weak "Oh m-my god, P-perrie". I began to sob uncontrollably, hot tears streaming down my face, stinging my various cuts from last night. When I finally calmed down a little, Dr. Gomez asked me "Would you like me to get you some water or something?". I responded with a shaky "Yes p-please. Water sounds good". After she left the room to fetch some water, I reached for a Kleenex from the nightstand beside me. I wiped away the tears from my face and sighed. I had to see Perrie. Even if she wasn't awake, I wanted to check up on her. She's probably the one person I worry most about, aside from my immediate family. The doctor came back in a minute later with a cup of water and handed it to me. "Thank you" I said to her, then I took a long sip of the cool refreshing liquid. "You're welcome. Do you need anything else or have any questions?" she asked. "Well, I was wondering if I could visit Perrie. Ya know, just to see her before I get sent home?" I explained to her. She smiled slightly for a moment but then resumed to a serious face and said "You can visit her, but we can't guarantee that she will be awake when you go in there". I responded to Dr. Gomez with "Okay, can I go see her now?". "Yes, come with me" said the doctor.
I got up out of bed slowly, as instructed by Dr. Gomez. She led me out into the hallway where there were many doctors and nurses walking around. We made our way down the hall to a door that was marked "Room 293A". Once we were standing in front of the door, she stopped me. "Are you sure you want to see her? Perrie has visible damage from last night" she asked me with a concerned look on her face. I took a few deep breaths and said "Yes, I'm ready to see her". Dr. Gomez nodded her head and slowly opened the cream-colored door.
My eyes immediately found Perrie lying on a bed, with bruises all over her pale skin, two large cuts on her colorless cheeks, as well as small cuts across her whole body, and several wires attached to her arms and legs. It was so hard to see her delicate body like that. It pained me so much I almost screamed. I walked over to the side of her bed, and sat down in a chair. I looked away from Perrie. I couldn't bear to see my sunshine in such terrible condition anymore. Dr. Gomez asked me if I would like to be left alone. I said yes, and so she stepped outside of the room and shut the door behind her. I rested my head against the bed and wept.
