Chapter 24:

Amy's POV:

I twiddled with my pencil, not really paying attention to the notes that were being written on the board. I couldn't concentrate, even if I wanted to.

I glanced across the room, and noticed Liam with that same girl again- the girl who I had saw him kissing the other day. Apparently she was new, but I didn't even know her name.

Of course, they were flirting. He held her hand under the desk, and would whisper some cheesy joke to her every few seconds when the teacher wasn't looking. I'll admit it, it hurt a lot. But life wasn't fair, and I've learned to accept that.

I shifted awkwardly in my seat as Liam and I made eye contact across the room. I hadn't talked to him since our second fight,  even though we had been in the same room plenty of times since then.

I quickly turned my head towards the board again, trying to ignore Liam and the brunette out of the corner of my eye.

I took a deep breath as I looked at the clock, noticing school was almost over. It was Friday afternoon, which meant Liam and I haven't spoken to each other in almost a week. I couldn't even fathom how much I've missed him, how much I missed our innocent flirting or funny conversations. I had only known him for half a year, yet it felt as if I've known him forever.

I sighed in relief as the bell rung, dismissing us from class. I walked down the hall with Louis and Lauren, listening to their conversation about their plans for a date tonight.

"So, are you guys are gonna sneak out?" I asked.

Lauren nodded her head, "They don't care anymore, I've noticed considering the many times we've snuck out before."

Louis nodded his head in agreement, "That is true, they don't really enforce those rules around here."

I smiled, remembering all the times Lauren, Charlotte, Maggie, Taylor, and I had snuck out to go watch a movie in London, or simply just go into town.

"Hey Amy," Louis said as we walked out of the building and into the cold winter breeze, "You're welcome to come with us if you would like, you look as if you could use a break from this place."

"Umm..." I began, "Won't I be an awkward third wheel though?"

Lauren shook her head, "Not necessarily, considering we invited Chance from Maths."

She looked at me cheekily as I shook my head, my cheeks turning a light shade of pink, "Okay... I guess I'll go."

Lauren snickered at me, relieved that I was going to do something besides sit in our dorm all night. I smiled back at her, playfully sticking out my tongue. I guess going out to watch a movie would be a good way to get my mind off things, considering my latest approach of taking a walk didn't turn out so well.

Lauren and I waved goodbye to Louis as we walked towards our dorm. She wouldn't stop talking about later tonight, and was going on and on about which outfit she was going to wear.

"Lauren," I began, interrupting her mid-sentence, "I'm sure Louis would think you would look beautiful if you wore a trash bag, stop worrying over it. He loves you for you."

She took a deep breath, "Thanks Amy, I needed that."

I smiled in return, "No problem. Why are you nervous anyway?"

She shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know, it happens all the time I guess. It's just the way I get before a date with Louis."

I nodded my head in understanding. Lauren always did get nervous around boys easily, and Louis was no exception.
